Wuthering Waves Ciaccona release date
Wuthering Waves' Ciaccona released in the second half of version 2.3, after Wuthering Waves' Zani. Both characters got drip marketing on the official socials of Kuro's game, marking them for release in the version.
Who is Ciaccona?
Ciaccona is a five-star Wuthering Waves character who uses the aero element and pistol weapon type. Her moveset fits with her whimsical appearance very well.
According to her character introduction, she's 'free-spirited, romantic, sincere, and passionate' - as a bard should be. Rovers meet her in the 2.2 update's story, where she's first seen making music with a leaf. She has a fairly different appearance from other characters, as she has branch-like horns with vines wrapped around them, and pointy ears.
Ciaccona marks the seventh Wuthering Waves character to have a name beginning with C - six of which are five-stars, and six of which are female - while the origins of her name make sense, using Cantarella, Camellya, Carlotta, Changli, Chixia, and now Ciaccona is getting a little confusing. There's also Cartethiya in the story, too.
'Ciaccona', or chaconne, is a form of song that gained popularity back in the 1600s, or the Baroque era. This fits her character as she appears complete with musical instruments.
Who are Ciaccona's voice actors?
In English, Ciaccona is voiced by Rebecca Hanssen, known for her work on Baldur's Gate 3, and even on The Witcher's Netflix series. In Chinese, she's played by Ye Zhiqiu, and in Korean, Kim Ye-rim. Her Japanese voice actor is confirmed to be Ikumi Hasegawa, known for her roles in Unicorn Overlord and anime like Blue Lock.
