What’s the best Wuthering Waves Zhezhi build?
Zhezhi is a five-star resonator who uses the glacio element and a rectifier weapon.
Element | Glacio |
Rarity | Five-star |
Role | Sub-DPS |
Best weapon | Rime-Draped Sprouts |
Best echo | Impermanence Heron |
Best echo set | Moonlit clouds |
Main stats | Glacio damage bonus Crit rate/damage Attack |
This delightful painter girl can act as a sub-DPS and support unit, as she’s capable of dealing plenty of damage with coordinated attacks, but provides buffs to your on-field character, too.
Zhezhi’s best weapon is her signature five-star, the Rime-Draped Sproutss, and we recommend you use a full set of moonlit clouds echoes for the buffs – but make sure you include a glacio damage bonus echo in there.
What’s the best weapon for Zhezhi?
The best rectifier weapon for Zhezhi is her signature, Rime-Draped Sprouts as it significantly boosts her kit and is tailored to how she works. You can also use Yinlin’s rectifier as she fills a similar role to Zhezhi. Other than that, the Variation is the best four-star rectifier for her.
Rime-Draped Sprouts | Stat: Crit damage Effect: Increases Zhezhi’s attack by 12%. While she is on field, using her resonance skill grants a 12% basic attack damage bonus, which can stack three times and lasts six seconds. At three stacks or more, using her outro skill consumes all stacks of this effect and grants her a 52% basic attack bonus for 27 seconds, which lasts even when she is not on field |

Stringmaster | Stat: Crit rate Effect: Increases the damage bonus of all of Zhezhi’s resonance attributes by 12%. When a resonance skill hits a target, her attack damage increases by 12%. This can stack twice. When Zhezhi is not on the field, her attack increases by an extra 12% |

Variation | Stat: Energy regeneration Effect: When using Zhezhi’s resonance skill, she restores eight concerto energy. This can trigger once every 20 seconds |

What’s the best Zhezhi team comp?
Zhezhi is a flexible sub-DPS and support unit, who we recommend you pair with Lingyang or Sanhua to maximize her glacio boosts. You can also use her alongside Jinhsi thanks to her coordinated attack. Here are the best synergies for Zhezhi in a team:
- Wuthering Waves Lingyang – At present, Lingyang is the go-to glacio DPS, and will very much appreciate Zhezhi’s glacio boost and resonance skill boost.
- Wuthering Waves Jinhsi – Jinhsi loves coordinated attacks to help stack up her buffs, so Zhezhi is a great option. Though the glacio damage boost isn’t used on Jinhsi, the resonance skill damage boost is very much appreciated.
- As always, if you need a healer, take Wuthering Waves Verina or Wuthering Waves Baizhi. It only depends on which you have, which one you prefer, or which one’s built better. Baizhi’s resonance nodes allow her to resurrect a party member during combat, but Verina is generally a better healer.

What are the best echoes for Zhezhi?
Here are the best echo sets for Zhezhi:
- Five-piece set: Moonlit clouds
- Two-piece sets: Moonlit clouds, freezing frost
We recommend a full five-piece set of moonlit clouds echoes for Zhezhi. It can be hard to get a full set, so you can use two two-piece sets of moonlit clouds and freezing frost to up her energy recharge and glacio damage. Just make sure the main and substats are what you want.
The best main echo to equip on Zhezhi is the Impermance Heron, but the Lampylumen Myriad is also an excellent choice depending on your team comp.
Impermanence Heron | Transforming into the Impermanence Heron performs a dive attack, or holding the echo button lets you stay as the Heron and deal constant havoc damage for a few seconds. After the attack, the current character gains ten resonance energy and gains an outro skill boost for 15 seconds. This also gives a damage boost of 12% for the next character, for 15 seconds |
Lampylumen Myriad | Transforming into the Lampylumen Myriad performs up to three consecutive attacks, dealing heavier glacio damage each time. The third hit will freeze enemies. Each hit also increases the current resonator’s glacio damage and resonance skill damage for 15 seconds. This can stack three times |

What are Zhezhi’s skills?
Here’s what Zhezhi can do in battle for you and for your team. Her kit has a lot of layers, but primarily she deals glacio damage and lets loose coordinated attacks which remain active while she’s off field.
Active skills
Basic attack | Dimming Brush Perform up to three consecutive attacks, dealing glacio damage |
Heavy attack | Zhezhi consumes stamina to perform a heavy attack. This does not reset the basic attack cycle |
Mid-air attack | Consume stamina to perform up to two mid-air attacks, dealing glacio damage |
Dodge counter | Use a basic attack after a successful dodge to deal glacio damage |
Resonance skill | Manifestation Deal glacio damage to targets. If Afflatus is greater than 60, Zhezhi consumes 60 of it to summon Phantasmic Imprint Left and Right. Tap the button to summon spirits on the ground, or tap it in mid-air to summon spirits in mid-air |
Resonance skill | Stroke of Genius When a Phantasmic Imprint is nearby, Manifestation gets replaced with Stroke of Genius. Zhezhi can cast this in mid-air. When cast, Zhezhi moves to the location of the Imprint, removes it, and summons an Ivory Herald to deal glacio damage. This counts as basic attack damage. Zhezhi gains one stack of Painter’s Delight, which lasts eight seconds and can stack twice |
Resonance skill | Creation’s Zenith When a Phantasmic Imprint is nearby and Zhezhi has two stacks of Painter’s Delight, her resonance skill turns into Creation’s Zenith. You can cast this in mid-air. Using it consumes all stacks of Painter’s Delight, and moves Zhezhi to where the Imprint is. She then summons an Ivory Herald to attack the target with heavy glacio damage. This is considered basic attack damage and increases her basic attack damage by 18% for 27 seconds |
Resonance liberation | Living Canvas Zhezhi summons Inklit Spirits to assist her. You can use this in mid-air. Inklit Spirit When the active resonator deals damage, an Inklit Spirit is summoned to do coordinated attacks that deal glacio damage. This counts as basic attack damage. Three seconds after damage is dealt, one Spirit gets summoned every second. This can trigger once a second. You can summon one spirit every second, up to a maximum of 21. This lasts either 30 seconds or until maximum Spirits get summoned |
Passive skills
Intro skill | Radiant Ruin Zhezhi attacks the target and deals glacio damage |
Outro skill | Carve and Draw The incoming resonator has their glacio damage amplified by 20% and resonance skill damage amplified by 25% for 14 seconds – or until they switch out |
Forte circuit | Ink and Wash Phantasmic Imprint Zhezhi can summon Phantasmic Imprint at the cost of Afflatus when casting her resonance skill or heavy attack (Conjuration). She can have one of each Imprint – left and right – at one time. Each lasts for 15 seconds. Heavy attack – Conjuration The following moves consume stamina to perform Conjuration, which deals glacio damage to a target. -Hold the basic attack button after basic attack three -Press the basic attack button after using resonance skill -Hold the basic attack button after resonance skills Stroke of Genius or Creation’s Zenith -Hold the basic attack button when in mid-air -Hold the basic attack button after a dodge If Zhezhi has at least 30 Afflatus when using any of these moves, she consumes 30 Afflatus to summon a Phantasmic Imprint – Middle. Afflatus Zhezhi can hold up to 90 Afflatus at one time. Normal attacks will grant her Afflatus when hitting a target, along with casting her intro skill |
Inherent skills
Calligrapher’s Touch | When using resonance skill (Stroke of Genius or Creation’s Zenith), Zhezhi’s attack increases by 6% for 27 seconds. This can stack three times |
Flourish | After using her outro skill, Zhezhi restores 15 energy to the incoming resonator |
Skill priority
- Resonance skill > forte circuit > resonance liberation > basic attack > intro skill
What is Zhezhi’s resonance chain?
If you happen to get more than one Zhezhi, or if you’re going for the full whack and want all of her sequences, here’s what you can unlock with each waveband.
Brushwork’s Finish | When using her resonance skill, Zhezhi restores 15 energy, and her crit rate increases by 10% for 27 seconds |
Vivid Strokes | The maximum number of Inklit Spirits summoned by Zhezhi’s resonance liberation increases by six |
Reflection’s Grace | When Zhezhi uses her resonance skill (Manifestation, Stroke of Genius, or Cration’s Zenith), her attack increases by 15%. This can stack three times and lasts 27 seconds |
Hue’s Spectrum | When using her resonance liberation, all resonator’s attack increases by 20% for 30 seconds |
Composition’s Clue | For every three Inklit Spirits Zhezhi summons during her resonance liberation, one extra Spirit gets summoned to perform a coordinated attack, dealing damage equal to 140% of the Inklit Spirit’s damage. This counts as basic attack damage |
Infinite Legacy | When casting Stroke of Genius or Creation’s Zenith, Zhezhi summons an extra Ivory Herald to deal damage equal to 120% of her resonance skill’s damage. This counts as basic attack damage |
