What is the best ZZZ Burnice build?
ZZZ Burnice is an S-rank character, who deals fire damage with the anomaly speciality.
Rank | S |
Attribute | Fire |
Specialty | Anomaly |
Best W-engine | Flamemaker Shaker |
Best drive discs | 4pc Chaos Jazz and 2pc Freedom Blues |
Main stats | Disc 4: anomaly proficiency or attack Disc 5: fire damage Disc 6: anomaly mastery or attack |
Sub-stats | Anomaly proficiency > attack ratio > pen ratio > attack |
As her name suggests, Burnice provides fire damage. Lots of it. She’s a sub-DPS that provides damage off-field through her ultimate and the afterburn effect.
She relies on anomaly proficiency as her main stat and applies the burn effect (or disorder, if used with other elements) readily. Burnice excels with her fellow Sons of Calydon as teammates and can work very well in a team with Jane Doe, too.
How to use Burnice
Burnice has a lot going on but is quite easy to use. She also doesn’t need too much on-field time, meaning you can swap to your main DPS and deal some real damage.
As Burnice enters the field, she starts with a full Heat gauge. From here, use her EX special to enter the Nitro Fuel Cocktail state, then use any attack on all enemies on the field. This applies the Scorched effect, and you can safely swap to your main DPS to make use of the Afterburn effect. The Nitro Fuel state continues until Burnice’s Heat gauge depletes – to refill it, use her special or EX special.
You can use Burnice during the state, too, as it boosts the damage of her basic, EX, and chain attacks. Burnice’s ultimate has her blasting flames at enemies on field, and you can swap to your other teammates to deal two lots of damage at once.
What’s Burnice’s best W-engine?
As an S-rank character, Burnice releases with her own signature W-engine – the Flamemaker Shaker. This improves her damage while off-field, which is key if you use her alongside Jane Doe as a main DPS.
You can also safely use the Electro Lip Gloss or Rainforest Gourmet W-engines to add to Burnice’s anomaly proficiency or even Grace’s signature – Fusion Compiler – if you happen to have it.
Flamemaker Shaker | Stat: Increases attack Skill: While off-field, Burnice’s energy regen increases. Hitting an enemy with an EX special or assist increases her damage. This can stack ten times and trigger once every 0.3 seconds. When Burnice is off-field, this stack effect doubles. Once a damage increase takes effect, if current stacks are five or more, her anomaly proficiency increases by 50. This cannot stack |

Electro Lip Gloss | Stat: Increases anomaly proficiency Skill: When enemies inflicted with an attribute anomaly are on the field, Burnice’s attack increases and she deals additional damage to the target |
New Eridu City Fund pass |
Fusion Compiler | Stat: PEN ratio Skill: Increases Burnice’s attack. When she uses a special attack or EX special attack, her anomaly proficiency increases for eight seconds, stacking up to three times. The duration of each stack calculates separately |

Rainforest Gourmet | Stat: Increases anomaly proficiency Skill: For every ten energy Burnice consumes, she gains a buff that increases her attack for ten seconds, stacking up to ten times. The duration of each stack calculates separately |

What are Burnice’s best drive discs?
The Chaos Jazz set fits perfectly on Burnice – this boosts her anomaly proficiency, fire damage, special attack, and assist damage. You can mix this with a set of Freedom Blues or Inferno Metal for more buffs. Alternatively, you can use two sets of Freedom Blues and Chaos Jazz, or Inferno Metal – the key is the substats.
If you have Jane, I have bad news for you – Burnice also needs a hefty anomaly proficiency stat. Aiming for 350 or above is a good ballpark. Along with this, aim for penetration ratio and attack sub-stats. A fire damage bonus disc will also help with her overall ability to deal with enemies.
On top of that, Burnice also needs some attack in her kit. Her core passive scales off her attack stat, so make sure to get some relevant stats in there, too.
Chaos Jazz | Two pieces: Increases anomaly proficiency by 30 Four pieces: Burnice’s fire damage increases by 15%. While off-field, her EX special attack and assist attack damage increases by 20%. When switching on-field, this buff continues for five seconds, and the continuation effect can trigger once every 7.5 seconds |
Inferno Metal | Two pieces: Increases fire damage by 10% Four pieces: Upon hitting a burning enemy, Burnice’s crit rate increases by 28% for eight seconds |
Freedom Blues | Two pieces: Increases anomaly proficiency by 30 Four pieces: When an EX special attack hits an enemy, the target’s anomaly buildup resistance to fire reduces by 20% for eight seconds. This effect does not stack with others of the same attribute |
Stat recommendations
Main stats:
- Disc 4: anomaly proficiency or attack
- Disc 5: fire damage%
- Disc 6: anomaly mastery or attack
Sub-stats
- Anomaly proficiency > attack > pen ratio > crit rate/damage
What are the best Burnice team comps?
Really, you can use any combination of Burnice, Caesar, Jane, and Lucy – you’ll get a good and strong team out of it. You can also use Burnice alongside Yanagi to make use of a Disorder team comp. Yanagi prefers another anomaly agent in the team, and Burnice is excellent at applying Burn, which in turn is ideal for Yanagi to create Disorder effects. You can use an electric or fire bangboo, or Red Moccus if you choose Caesar as your third teammate here.
As for bangboos, Red Moccus and Rocketboo are the best in terms of S-ranks, depending on whether you have two physical or two fire squadmates.
What are ZZZ Burnice’s skills?
Here are all of Burnice’s moves, including those that activate both of her flamethrowers and provide the afterburn effect for other teammates to make use of.
Attacks
Basic attack | Direct Flame Blend Burnice performs up to five attacks dealing both physical and fire damage |
Basic attack | Mixed Flame Blend In the Nitro-Fuel Cocktail state, holding basic attack lets Burnice spin in circles emitting flames to deal fire damage. She also has a finishing move. This consumes 20 Heat, increases her anti-interrupt level, and allows an EX special attack movement to follow up with Intense Heat Stirring Method – Double Shot |
Special attack | Intense Heat Aging Method Blasts forward with her flamethrowers to deal fire damage. Holding this skill charges up and boosts the power of the move. Burnice’s anti-interrupt level increases during this skill |
EX Special attack | Intense Heat Stirring Method Continuously spray flames at enemies with a one-handed flamethrower, and then blast fire in front of Burnice. This deals massive fire damage. Holding this skill consumes energy and extends the duration. When continuously spraying, Burnice can sidestep to avoid attacks. Burnice’s anti-interrupt level increases and she takes 40% less damage during this skill. She is invulnerable when sidestepping |
EX special attack | Intense Heat Stirring Method – Double Shot When using Intense Heat Stirring Method, Burnice can activate Double Shot when she has enough energy. Here, she uses both flamethrowers to deal fire damage to enemies, with a blast to finish the moves. This deals massive fire damage. Holding the skill consumes energy to keep the blast going. Burnice’s anti-interrupt level increases and she takes 40% less damage during this skill. She is invulnerable during the fire blast |
Ultimate | Glorious Inferno Burnice dashes forward and leaps into the air to deal a stream of flames, dealing heavy fire damage to enemies. This triggers a quick assist, where Burnice can extend the duration of the flames. She recovers 50 Heat using this move and is invulnerable during this skill |
Dodges
Dodge | Fiery Phantom Dash Burnice dashes away from damage to dodge it. She is invulnerable during this skill |
Dash attack | Dangerous Fermentation Using a basic attack during a dodge sees Burnice rush forward and deal heavy fire damage |
Dodge counter | Fluttering Steps Using a basic attack during a perfect dodge allows Burnice to launch attacks at enemies dealing physical and fire damage. She is invulnerable during this skill |
Combo attacks
Quick assist | Specialty Drink When an on-field character gets launched, swap to Burnice to unleash attacks that deal fire and physical damage. She is invulnerable during this skill |
Defensive assist | Smoky Cauldron When a character on field is about to get attacked, swap to Burncie to parry the attack and deal massive daze. She is invulnerable during this skill |
Assist follow-up | Scorching Dew Using a basic attack after a defensive assist, Burnice leaps into the air and spins forward while dealing with fire damage. She can use her EX special (Double Shot) right after this. She is invulnerable during this skill |
Chain attack | Fuel-Fed Flame Triggering a chain attack and swapping to Burnice sees her dash forward and spray flames in all directions, followed by a blast to deal massive fire damage. She can then use her EX special (Double Shot) right after. She is invulnerable during this skill |
Passive skills
Core passive | Nitro-Fuel Cocktail When Burnice uses energy, she accumulates Heat. She can hold 100 at a time. She gains 1.4 Heat for each point of energy used. She gains 100 Heat when entering the field. At 50 Heat, she enters the Nitro-Fuel Cocktail state until all Heat gets used. While in this state, when her basic attack, EX special, chain attack, or ultimate hits an enemy, she applies Scorched. When other party members hit Scorched enemies, it triggers Afterburn, using eight Heat to deal fire damage equal to a massive amount of her attack. This accumulates fire anomaly buildup. This can trigger every 1.5 seconds. For every ten points of her anomaly proficiency, Afterburn damage increases 1%, up to a maximum of 30%. This damage is considered as assist attack damage |
Additional ability | Fire Kindling When another squad member is either an anomaly character or in the Sons of Calydon, Burnice’s basic attack and EX specials get increased fire anomaly buildup (+65%). This also happens if she triggers Afterburn. If another squad member triggers burn on enemies, the duration extends three seconds |
What are Burnice’s mindscape cinemas?
If you’re saving up for more than one copy of Burnice, you can unlock these handy boosts to her kit.
01 | Kindred Flames Increases the limit of Heat from 100 to 140. When entering the field, Burnice accumulates an additional 40 Heat. The damage multiplier of Afterburn increases by 100% of Burnice’s attack. The Afterburn accumulated by her fire anomaly buildup increases by 25% |
02 | Extra at No Additional Charge When triggering Afterburn, Thermal Penetration gets applied to enemies, which can stack five times and lasts six seconds. Repeated triggers reset the duration. When an ally hits the enemy with this state, their penetration ratio increases by 4% for each stack of Thermal Penetration, up to 20% |
03 | Optimistic by Nature Burnice’s basic attack, dodge, assist, special attack, and chain attack levels increase by two |
04 | Ultimate Fuel Supply When an EX special or assist attack hits an enemy, the crit rate increases by 30%. The maximum flame spray duration of Double Shot increases by one second |
05 | Dance of Fire and Ice Burnice’s basic attack, dodge, assist, special attack, and chain attack levels increase by two |
06 | Burning Invitation When Burnice hits an enemy with Double Shot, it triggers an additional Afterburn effect, dealing 60% of Burnice’s attack as fire damage. This can trigger once every 0.5 seconds and does not consume Heat. After hitting an enemy with Double Shot, burn and Afterburn ignore 25% of the target’s fire resistance. When Double Shot’s fire hits an enemy, if the enemy is burned, it triggers an extra instance of burn damage equal to 1,800% of the original damage. This can trigger once every 20 seconds per target |

Who is Burnice?
Burnice. Burn. Get it? Because she’s fire? Anyway, she’s another really cool member of the Sons of Calydon biker gang, alongside Zenless Zone Zero’s Lighter and Caesar.
It appears that she might be a bartender of sorts, with a signature drink called ‘Nitro Fuel’, judging by a quote in her intro mentioning that her drinks never disappoint Caesar.
We highly recommend pairing Burnice with fellow Sons such as Zenless Zone Zero’s Piper and Zenless Zone Zero’s Lucy, and using fire units like Zenless Zone Zero’s Soldier 11 to up her burning abilities.
