Our ZZZ Qingyi build is here to help you make the most of this quirky officer from the New Eridu Public Security’s Criminal Investigation Special Response Team. As an S-rank stun agent, she can pack quite a punch, so let’s dive into her full kit, best equipment and team comps, and more.

If you’re wondering how Qingyi and her fellow N.E.P.S. members size up against the other Zenless Zone Zero characters, be sure to check out our Zenless Zone Zero tier list. Here’s everything in our Zenless Zone Zero’s Qingyi build.

What is the best Qingyi build?

ZZZ’s Qingyi is an S-rank stun specialty character who deals electric attribute damage and belongs to the N.E.P.S. faction. She’s a powerful melee unit who uses her devastating combo attacks to daze her enemies and amplify stun damage multipliers to dizzying heights.

Here’s a brief overview of our best ZZZ Qingyi build:

Rank S
Attribute Electric
Specialty Stun
Attack type Strike
Best W-engine Ice-Jade Teapot
Best drive discs 4pc Shockstar Disco and 2pc Swing Jazz
Main stats
  • Disc 4: crit rate/damage
  • Disc 5: electric damage%
  • Disc 6: impact
Sub-stats Crit rate = crit damage > attack ratio > pen ratio > attack

Qingyi’s best W-engine is her signature S-rank, Ice-Jade Teapot, and her best drive disc set is four pieces of Shockstar Disco and two pieces of Swing Jazz. When building her, you should prioritize boosting her crit rate and damage, attack ratio, pen ratio, then flat attack, with impact and electric damage main stats on discs five and six.

Her additional ability offers a nice boost to her daze and attack, which is pretty valuable to her kit. However, to activate this, you need to put her on a team with at least one attack-type character or a fellow member of N.E.P.S. Luckily, that’s pretty easy, as she performs best in a team alongside a strong attack character and a support.

How to use Qingyi

Qingyi is one of the top stun support characters in the game, with strong combo attacks that allow her to overwhelm enemies. However, she does require a significant amount of field time in order to perform best.

Her kit revolves around her Flash Connect Voltage gauge, so getting to grips with that is extremely important. All of her electric damage attacks generate Voltage, and she can store up to 100 units. She then uses 75 units of voltage to activate her empowered basic attack, Enchanted Moonlit Blossoms, which is incredibly important for maximizing her daze potential and applying her impressive stun damage multiplier.

Therefore, your main priority should be keeping Qingyi on-field constantly when the enemy isn’t stunned, using her electric attacks to build up voltage, then unleashing her enhanced basic attack when she has 75 units. Once she stuns the enemy, switch to your DPS to unleash a heap of damage on the weakened enemy. Then, when the enemy recovers from the stun, switch back to Qingyi to start building up voltage and daze again. Rinse, repeat.

Qingyi works very well with Zenless Zone Zero’s Nicole, alongside a main DPS like Zenless Zone Zero’s Zhu Yuan, Zenless Zone Zero’s Nekomata, or Zenless Zone Zero’s Billy. In this type of line-up, Nicole can provide some handy crowd control through her skill and burst, Qingyi can come in and stun the enemies, then the DPS can come in and polish them off. You can learn more about her synergies and best squads in the team comp section below.

What’s Qingyi’s best W-engine?

Qingyi’s best W-engine is the S-rank Ice-Jade Teapot. It’s her signature S-rank, so it’s tailored specifically to her kit, boosting her impact and boosting her allies’ damage.

Qingyi’s second-best W-engine is The Restrained. As Lycaon’s signature W-Engine, it offers powerful stun buffing stats and a higher damage output that most other options.

Hellfire Gears is also a solid option for Qingyi. It’s a great all-rounder for stun agents due to its impact and energy recharge bonuses.

Qingyi’s best A-rank W-engine is Steam Oven. It’s easily her best F2P option thanks to its incredibly potent combat effect, and scales really well with superimpose levels.

The battle pass weapon Six Shooter and the standard A-rank Precious Fossilized Core are also decent back-up options for Qingyi if you don’t have any of the above. Or, if you’re just starting out, [Vortex] Arrow is a brilliant B-rank choice.

Here are Qingyi’s best W-engines:

Ice-Jade Teapot Stat: impact ratio
Skill: when Qingyi’s basic attack hits an enemy, she gains one stack of Tea-riffic. Each stack of Tea-riffic increases her impact, stacking up to 30 times and lasting for eight seconds. The duration of each stack is calculated independently. Upon aquiring Tea-riffic, if Qingyi possesses stacks of Tea-riffice greater than or equal to 15, all squad members’ damage increases by a set percentage for ten seconds. Passive effects of the same type don’t stack

What are Qingyi’s best drive discs?

Qingyi’s best drive disc set is four pieces of Shockstar Disco. It offers her a welcome boost to her impact, as well as a hefty increase to her daze when she uses her basic attack, dash attack, or dodge counter. This can help you build up daze as quickly as possible, which should always be a stun character’s priority.

We recommend combining this two two pieces of Swing Jazz for a nice boost to her energy regen. However, if you prefer, you can instead opt for two pieces of Woodpecker Electro, Thunder Metal, or Puffer Electro to boost her overall damage depending on what you’re looking for.

Here are ZZZ Qingyi’s best drive disc:

Shockstar Disco Two pieces: increases impact by 6%
Four pieces: basic attacks, dash attacks, and dodge counters inflict 20% more daze to their main target
Swing Jazz Two pieces: increases energy regen by 20%

Qingyi stat recommendations

When picking drive discs for Qingyi, we recommend prioritizing the following stats.

Main stats:

  • Disc 4: crit rate/damage
  • Disc 5: electric damage%
  • Disc 6: impact

Sub-stats

  • Crit rate = crit damage > attack ratio > pen ratio > attack

What are the best team comps for Qingyi?

In order to activate Qingyi’s passive, you need to pair her up with at least one attack character or one other member of N.E.P.S. Luckily, this gives you some very strong team comp options.

Qingyi is generally the best-in-slot stunner for a team composition consisting of a stunner, attacker, and support. This gives her a great level of flexibility with squads, as the attack character will always activate her passive – just keep in mind that Qingyi requires a lot of field time in order to build up voltage and stun enemies in order to make the most of her kit.

What are Qingyi’s skills?

Here are all of Qingyi’s skills and passives at level one. Keep in mind that the multipliers for each of these skills increase as you level them up.

Here are Qingyi’s attacks:

Basic attack Penultimate
Launch up to four attacks forward, dealing physical and electric damage.
During the third hit, repeatedly press the attack button to continue the attack, continuously striking the enemy. Using dodge during this period will not interrup Qingyi’s basic attack combo count
During the third hit, stop pressing the attack button to interrupt the continuous attack, transitioning automatically to the fourth hit. If the continuous attack lasts for a certain time, the fourth hit will be enhanced. Anti-interrupt level increases and damage received reduces by 40% during the third and fourth hit
Basic attack (hold) Enchanted Blossoms
Launch a forward rush attack, dealing electric damage. Anti-interrupt level is increased during this skill
Basic attack Flash Connect
When Qingyi deals electric damage with a skill, she accumulates Flash Connect Voltage. When Flash Connect Voltage reaches 75%, she enters the Flash Connect state. When using her basic attack: Enchanted Moonlit Blossoms, she consumes all Flash Connect Voltage and exits the Flash Connect state. For every 1% of Flash Connect Voltage she consumes over 75%, the damage and daze she inflicts with this skill increases by 1%/05%. Basic attack: Enchanted Moonlit Blossoms itself doesn’t accumulate Flash Connect Voltage
Basic attack Enchanted Moonlit Blossoms
During the Flash Connect state, hold the attack button to launch five consecutive forward rush attacks, then execute a finishing move that inflicts massive electric damage. Release the attack button during the move to trigger the finishing move early. Activate the finishing move just before an enemy is about to hit Qingyi to trigger a perfect dodge. Anti-interrupt level and damage received reduces by 40% during the rush attack. Qingyi is invulnerable during the finishing move
Special attack Sunlit Glory
Qingyi quickly swings upward, followed by a downward smash, dealing electric damage. Her anti-interrupt level increases during this skill
EX special attack Moonlit Begonia
Qingyi quickly swings upward and leaps into the air, turning around to launch a series of attacks, then follows up with a powerful downward smash, dealing massive electric damage. Hold the special attack button to consume additional energy and increase the number of hits in the series of her attacks. Qingyi is invulnerable while using this skill. After executing the move, you can immediately follow up with the third hit of a basic attack

Here are Qingyi’s dodges:

Dodge Swan Song
Perform a quick dash, during which Qingyi is invulnerable
Dash attack Breach
Hit the attack button during a dodge to rush forward and launch an upward attack, dealing physical damage
Dodge counter Lingering Sentiments
Press the attack button during a perfect dodge to leap into the air and then perform a downward attack, dealing electric damage. Qingyi is invulnerable during this skill

Here are Qingyi’s combo attacks:

Quick assist Wind Through the Pines
When an enemy launches the on-field character, switch to Qingyi to leap into the air and perform a downward attack, dealing electric damage. Qingyi is invulnerable during this skill
Defensive assist Graceful Embellishment
When an enemy is about to attack the on-field character, switch to Qingyi to parry the enemy’s attack, dealing massive daze. Qingyi is invulnerable during this skill
Assist follow-up Song of the Clear River
Hit the attack button after a defensive assist to rush forward with an attack and inject electrical energy into the ground, pulling back to trigger an explosion that deals electric damage. Qingyi is invulnerable during this skill
Chain attack Tranquil Serenade
When a chain attack triggers, switch to Qingyi to launch a series of powerful strokes over a large area in front, dealing massive electric damage. When this attack hits an enemy, the skill’s damage increases by 3% for every stack of Subjugation the target has from Qingyi’s core passive, Eternal Seasons. Qingyi is invulnerable during this skill
Ultimate Eight Sounds of Ganzhou
Launch a series of powerful strikes over a large area in front, foll wed by a finishing move, dealing massive electric damage. Qingyi is invulnerable during this skill

Here are Qingyi’s passives:

Core passive Eternal Seasons
When Qingyi lands a finishing move on an enemy with her basic attack: Enchanted Moonlit Blossoms, it applies five stacks of Subjugation to the enemy, stacking up to 20 times. Each stack of Subjugation increases the target’s stun damage multiplier by 2%. For each rush attack performed during Enchanted Moonlit Blossoms, the finishing move applies one extra stack of Subjugation. If perfect dodge triggers when using the finishing move, it directly applies ten stacks of Subjugation. When applying Subjugation to normal and elite enemies, the target receives double the stacks. When the target recovers from being stunned, the corresponding stacks of Subjugation reset
Additional ability Three Verses of Farewell at Yang Pass
When another character on Qingyi’s squad is an attack character or is also a member of the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, Qingyi’s basic attacks deal 20% more daze. If her impact is greater that 120, each point over increases her attack by 6, up to a maximum of 600

What are Qingyi’s mindscape cinemas?

Who is Zenless Zone Zero’s Qingyi?

Qingyi is a member of the New Eridu Public Security’s Criminal Investigation Special Response Team (quite the mouthful, huh?). We first got a glimpse of her during the pre-release special program, where she briefly shows up alongside other N.E.P.S. members Zenless Zone Zero’s Zhu Yuan, Seth Lowell, and Jane Doe.

According to her entry in the New Eridu archives, she has a wealth of experience and often dishes out advice to others, and her agent record shows a quote from Zhu Yuan stating that “Qingyi’s composure stems from her wealth of life experience!”

However, it seems that Qingyi’s behavior can sometimes be a little… odd. Another quote from her agent record suggests that she licked a lost watch before giving it back to a citizen, and a rookie patrol officer implies that you can always find her by looking out for a cloud of piping hot steam. No, we’re not entirely sure what either of those quotes are implying, either.

Who are Qingyi’s voice actors?

Qingyi’s English VA is Kira Buckland, an American voice actor with an impressive roster of roles under her belt including Jolyne Cujoh from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Nier Automata’s 2B, Genshin Impact’s Kuki Shinobu, Mitsuri Kanroji from Demon Slayer, and many more.

Qingyi’s JP VA is Abo Maria, who you may recognize as the voice of the Cookie Run Kingdom character Hot Scovillia Student, and her CN voice actor is 皛四白, who also voices Wuthering Waves’ Encore along with multiple Arknights characters.

And that’s everything in our ZZZ Qingyi build.
