Apocalyptic Atom RPG is arriving on Android later this month

The Fallout-inspired RPG is set to drop on August 27

Atom Team has announced that its Fallout-inspired RPG is coming to Android on August 27. The developer revealed the news on the game’s Facebook page, reporting only ‘a few minor tweaks and improvements’ left before the game is ready to upload. Atom RPG released on iOS back at the end of May, and like its PC version, received generally favourable reviews.

The setup for Atom RPG goes like this – in 1986, the Soviet Union and Western Bloc are destroyed in nuclear war. As a survivor of the disaster, you now have to trawl the radioactive wasteland, trying to survive, but also to unmask a shady conspiracy that threatens what little is left.

The game takes inspiration from classic CRPG titles such as Fallout, Wasteland, Deus Ex, and Baldur’s Gate, to name a few. Expect turn-based battles and putting stat points into skills such as martial arts and lock picking. Atom RPG also has cross-save enabled, so if you’re been playing on PC, you don’t lose any progress if you jump over. It’s not a one-way thing, either, and you can move your save back over to PC if you fancy it.

The Google Play page isn’t up yet, but if you want Atom RPG on iOS, visit the App Store. Either that, or just wait until August 27, when the game page appears.

If you need something else to help you pass the time before then, though, then we’ve already rounded up the best mobile RPGs to help you pick. we’d recommend Chrono Trigger if you fancy being familiar with a game people won’t stop talking about.
