Nippon Ichi Software has put out a new Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless story trailer, revealing the crux of the game as a classic MacGuffin collectathon. This comes alongside the confirmation of a Disgaea 7 release date later this year, bringing the latest instalment in one of the best JRPG series for fans of tactical combat onto the Nintendo Switch.
In traditional JRPG fashion, two unlikely friends form an alliance to save the world, taking on tyrants in the process. To make sure they’re up to the task, they need to collect seven powerful weapons of legend.
In terms of gameplay, the Disgaea series has always had a unique blend of tactical combat and RPG elements, making for an engaging and underrated blend that’s yet to fully penetrate in the West (unlike Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, the naming convention of which it feels like Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless is taking notes from…).
When is the Disgaea 7 release date?
Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless launches on October 6, 2023, in Europe, and is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. The US release is still set for Fall 2023.
