Premium gaming journal Lock-On launches it’s latest Kickstarter

A love letter to the Dreamcast, including articles covering Pikmin & Doshin the Giant

A spread shows pages of a gaming journal, with artwork based on Shenmue

After successfully launching its first two issues in 2021, Lock-On from Lost in Cult is back for a brand new release, launching the Kickstarter for volume 003 very recently. The premium gaming journal is a gorgeous piece designed to celebrate the artwork of classic and cult games with some thoughtfully written articles to accompany them.

This latest issue focuses on Sega’s Dreamcast console, with a hardcover featuring artwork based on the cult hit Shenmue. Some tiers also include a digital music album from creator RyoX, including synthwave remixes of Shenmue and other Dreamcast original tracks. Meanwhile, the softcover features artwork from indie darling Sable, created by the game’s creative director himself, Gregorios Kythreotis. So don’t miss the Lock-On 003 Kickstarter.

The Kickstarter isn’t finishing for well over a week, but if previous issues are anything to go by, stock will be very limited. Different backing options also include access to previous issues, as well as exclusive access to the Lock-On card game Versus, featuring artwork from many different indie developers. If you’re interested in lovely artwork, video game artwork, and want a hefty new piece of print media for your coffee table, this is a fantastic chance to pick up an exciting new release.

You can find Lock-On on social media to keep up with all the latest releases below, as well as a trailer for the latest issue.
