You have the opportunity to try out Minecraft Dungeons this week, as the title is the latest Game Trial event for Nintendo Switch Online members. Announced this morning, the trial runs from August 18 until August 24, so nearly a whole week to dive in and start your adventure.

You can even try out the multiplayer with up to four players online, working cooperatively to delve even deeper into the creeper-infested dungeons. Unlike regular Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons is an action adventure inspired by dungeon crawling classics like Diablo.

While it might not have as much crafting as original Minecraft, it has expanded combat mechanics, ranged attacks, and armour to experiment with. If you enjoy the game trial, there is also plenty of DLC to dive into afterwards, thanks to the Hero Pass. It gives you access to all of the DLC, and some unique extras such as player skins, and a chicken pet. Be sure to try it out before the free Game Trial ends next week.

If you want to see what additional content is in the DLC, check out the video for the latest expansion, the Echoing Void, below.
