New PDP Realmz Switch controllers hide something adorable

A new batch of PDP Realmz Switch controllers house a fun little secret, as the devices hide figures of iconic characters underneath your sweaty palms.

Realmz Switch controller: a Switch controller is shown with a small Sonic figure inside

Hardware manufacturer PDP has announced a new batch of PDP Realmz Switch controllers and accessories, featuring Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and even Pikmin among its cast. However, these have a fun twist. The see-through controllers and headphones feature gorgeous designs of the character’s worlds, but also plastic figures buried underneath the plastic. We hope to add these to our guide on the best Nintendo Switch controllers soon.

With thanks to VGC for the info, we know that PDP is offering the Realmz controllers in both wired and wireless options, and so far the compant has also unveiled Sonic the Hedgehog headphones including a mic for gaming. Pre-orders begin on August 25, 2023, and PDP is also set to unveil another batch of Realmz controllers based on Transformers later in the year. Want a controller with Optimus Prime trapped inside for eternity? Well giddy up!

These controllers are a little… gaudy, but they’re a really cute idea and something different that Pikmin or Sonic fans are sure to love. Clearly, they’re designed for children, and honestly the idea of being a little kid and finding a controller with Sonic inside is such a fun idea. We don’t know yet how well they feel when playing games, but the Realmz controllers could be a neat christmas gift for the little nerds in your life.

There isn’t an official trailer yet, but you can check out the PDP Gaming page to see their other controllers, like the AfterGlow Switch controller you can find below.
