Mario movie’s Chris Pratt joins the opening of Nintendo World

The voice of Mario himself, Chris Pratt, headed to the unveiling of Universal Studios Hollywood’s Super Mario World alongside other stars like Brie Larson

Super Nintendo World's Chris Pratt cameo header -- art from Super Nintendo World showing three people in full body suits of (from left to right) Mario, Peach, and Luigi. Behind them are green pipes and a large red cube, below them a large star with eyes. Mario is a man in a red top and blue dungarees and red cap with a big moustache and arm outstretched in celebratory welcome. Luigi on the other side mirrors this pose and outfit except his red is green. Peach is a blonde-haired princess in a long pink dress and white gloves, hands together as if in prayer.

The Super Mario Movie is right around the corner, and just before Nintendo and Illumination’s animated exploration of the Mushroom Kindom hits the big screen, Universal Studios Hollywood’s hosted the opening of its new Super Nintendo World section of the theme park.

Twitter user Mouse Vibes was at the grand opening and has a nice string of videos and photos showing off all the stars at the event. Of course, Chris Pratt is probably the main attraction, given he’s voicing Mario in the upcoming movie, but more stars were present.

Most important of all is Shigeru Miyamoto, Mario’s creator, sharing the carpet with Hollywood A-listers and looking good doing it. We also saw Brie Larson, who while not affiliated with the upcoming movie, is outspoken about her love for Nintendo stuff.

Other stars included Keegan-Michael Key, Anderson Paak, and Pete Wentz. You can see more clips on Twitter, or check out the official stream below.
