Words With Friends 2 collabs with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation

Zynga and Born This Way announce World Mental Health Day partnership

Words With Friends 2, Zynga’s popular mobile word game, has partnered with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation for a World Mental Heath Day takeover event. The collaboration aims to promote mental health awareness by featuring the word ‘stay’ as the game’s October 10, 2020 Word of the Day.

Words With Friends 2 players will also be able to find helpful mental health resources, info, and some in-game support provided by the Born This Way Foundation. “The current global health emergency has left many of our communities with unprecedented levels of uncertainty and stress,” said Bernard Kim, president of publishing at Zynga.”

He continues, “Words With Friends is a beloved game that continues to connect players across the globe — and through the power of words, provides strength, courage, and hope. We want to let our communities know they are not alone and reaffirm our commitment to provide support, acceptance, and a sense of community. We’re proud to partner with Born This Way Foundation to heighten public awareness about the importance of mental health.”

Cynthia Germanotta, president and co-founder of the Born This Way Foundation, added, “I’m grateful to Words with Friends for choosing such a powerful word, stay, to remind us all that we matter, we’re needed here, and there are resources available to support our mental wellness. Thanks to this initiative, we are encouraging open, honest conversations around mental health and highlighting urgently-needed resources on the game’s platform.”

Further mental health info and resources can be found on Born This Way’s official site. You can also discover your mental health anchor at the foundation’s Please Stay site. And if you fancy giving Words With Friends a go, it’s up for download as a free-to-play game from the App Store and Google Play.
