Xiaomi has finally announced its top-end flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, following multiple rumours and leaks. The main focus is an upgraded Leica-branded quad-camera system, but the design is definitely a head-turner too.
With a faux leather back and a curve below the camera bump, it’s one of the weirder-looking flagships in a while. Rather than its little brother’s square camera bump in the top left corner, the Ultra’s bump is centred and circular, plus the faux leather is likely less of a fingerprint magnet.
Beyond the camera upgrade and strange design, other benefits beyond the step below aren’t clear. The Ultra has a slightly bigger battery with slower charging, as well as higher storage/RAM configurations, but beyond that, the camera, and design, that looks to be it. When is the Xiaomi 13 Ultra release date?
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra launches in China in April 2023, with a global release coming a few months later. Don’t expect that global release to include the US, however. You can check out the launch event below.
