It’s a sad day for fans of Crash and mobile games as King finally goes ahead with the Crash Bandicoot: On The Run shutdown. Yes, the 2021 title is history, less than two years after its launch in March of that year, though it’s hardly a surprise after Activision’s mobile arm made its intent clear months ago.
Aside from King announcing its plans to shutter Crash Bandicoot: On The Run, the development team put a stop to new in-game content after just seven months. That alone is a sign of how much faith the studio has in its game. We only know about the shutdown thanks to @Doctor_Cupcakes on Twitter. That’s right. King shuttered the game without announcing the news itself on social media.
Mind you, the Crash Bandicoot: On The Run Twitter page is a ghost town, with no new posts in over a year. One look at our Crash Bandicoot: On The Run review can tell you that there have been problems since day one.
It’s always a shame when a mobile game bites the dust, especially one that involves a videogame legend. If you want to remember the good times, you can check out the trailer below.
