It’s that time of the week again, you know, when we dive deep into the deal mines to find something worthy of adding to your Switch collection. On this occasion, we’ve done quite well, if we do say so ourselves. Right now, on Amazon US, you can grab the digital version of Switch exclusive Shin Megami Tensei V for $41.99. That’s a massive saving of 30%, and given Nintendo released the game just two months ago, we think this is quite the steal.

Chances are you’ve heard of the SMT series, even if only for the notorious difficulty associated with it. Seriously, these games make the Dark Souls franchise seem as relaxing as exploring the stars in No Man’s Sky, or tending to your farm in Stardew Valley.

Anyway, for those unfamiliar with the story of Shin Megami Tensei V, you play as a half-teenager and half-demon – could a character be any antsier? Our guess is probably not, a moody teen mixed with a descendent of hell? Good luck to all who get in her way.

However, all joking aside, SMTV features a dark story, one that tasks you with not only discovering your place within this apocalyptic world, but also making some tragic choices. Mind you, that’s only necessary should you be keen to hold on to the light. If you choose to embrace the darkness, well, morals don’t tend to matter so much.

Of course, the game features the turn-based combat we all know and love from the series, and you get plenty of opportunities to get in on the action as you explore the wastelands of post-apocalyptic Tokyo.
