No, we’re not joking – Everybody 1-2 Switch comes out this month

More silly multiplayer fun is on the way in the form of Everybody 1-2 Switch, a follow up to 2017’s party game that released with the console.

In a surprise announcement today Nintendo unveiled the Everybody 1-2 Switch release date, a sequel to the Switch launch title 1-2 Switch that saw us all get together and play minigames with our brand new Joy-Cons. It’s no secret that the Switch excels with multiplayer games, so this fits in nicely.

The Everybody 1-2 Switch release date is on June 30th, 2023, so there’s not long to wait before we can gather our friends and family for a night of raucous fun. Nintendo promises a host of ‘weird and wonderful minigames’ including things like balloons and aliens, according to the only promo image we’ve seen.

How we play the latest 1-2 Switch game has had a little update – this time, mobiles are merged in. You need a Nintendo account and compatible smart devices for this, but it looks like Nintendo has taken some notes from Jackbox’s successful multiplayer mobile functionality.

We’re not sure of any specific minigames or systems just yet, other than it’s a typical party game where the player or team with the most points wins.

For now, information is a little thin on the ground as to what we can expect in the game, other than plenty of horsing around and classic Nintendo-esque motion-controlled fun, but pre-orders are open now if you really wanna get ahead of the game and secure a copy priced at $29.99/£24.99.

If you’re looking for more party game madness in the meantime, we’ve got a list of the best party games on mobile and some of the best Switch games for kids to keep them occupied.
