Despite a tricky couple of years, CD Project Red is celebrating its 20th anniversary by adding a bunch of fancy new content to Gwent. If you aren’t familiar with the Witcher card-game spin-off, there’s never been a better time to jump in and play a few hands with the tavern dwellers you might find, so you can pick up a little piece of special edition digital memorabilia.
The Gwent anniversary content introduces a bunch of themed avatars, borders, and other customisable options to you can at least control the optics of your playing field, if not the battle itself. The event also marks the first-ever opportunity to pick up a Raróg avatar, so you can show off your love for the Witcher universe’s iconic version of the phoenix.
All of these items, as well as some extra in-game content, are available now until August 24, 2022. That gives you just two weeks to jump back in, set up some decks, and take your cards to the gauntlet. If you haven’t played in a little while, you can also get to grips with the powerful new Rogue Mage and Black Sun sets.
The Gwent anniversary content is just the sort of revitalisation that the active community has been waiting for, with the game now in its sophomore year on iOS. We’re hoping that this event means that there’s more planned for Gwent down the line, especially with the news that the Witcher 4 is definitely coming somewhere down the line.
With that, you’re fully up to date on the Gwent anniversary content arriving in CD Project Red’s card game. For more titles that make you think of Geralt – and that’s never a bad thing – check out our picks for the best games like the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
