Developers PokeLabo and f4samurai have announced a Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra release date window, and it’s officially coming to iOS and Android this year.

In a surprise announcement, developers PokeLabo and f4samurai, the teams behind SINoAlice and Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story, revealed that a brand new Magia game is officially in the works. The Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra release date is confirmed for this year after a webpage for the game appeared online, with promotional art from designer Ume Aoki displaying a differently-colored Kyubey, the much-loved and always adorable little creature from the Magia universe. Its normal pink colors are swapped to a light green, further confirming that something new this way comes.

The universe itself is based on an anime that came out way back in 2011, and the first mobile game to come from it, Magia Record, is extremely popular with fans and actually produced its own anime. So players were understandably excited with the surprise announcement that Magia Exedra will be available to play this year.

Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra release date speculation

Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra release date just yet. However, don’t worry too much, because although we don’t have a set date, we do know that PokeLabo and f4samurai will release the game at some point this year. So we don’t have to wait too long, at least. But keep your eyes peeled and we’ll update you with a confirmed release date as soon as we know.

PokeLabo and f4samurai made the initial announcement very recently, so we’re eagerly awaiting further details because we can’t wait to jump back into the world of Madoka Kaname, the franchise’s adorable main protagonist. The game is slated to be a follow-up of the sadly sunsetted (in English, at least), Magia Record. It’s been a good few years since Magia Record’s English version was shut down in 2020, so Magia Exedra will hopefully give fans a spiritual successor to a much-loved mobile game.

Is there a Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra trailer?

We haven’t been blessed with a Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra trailer just yet, but given how gorgeous the initial artwork by designer Ume Aoki is, we’re very excited to see what’s on offer in this new installment to the franchise.

We do, however, have a teaser website that showcases the brand-new official artwork, featuring Madoka herself as well as the cutie patootie Kyubey.

What is Puella Magi Madoka Magica?

The franchise started as a Japanese anime that came out way back in 2011, and from it came the 2013 Rebellion movie as well as a number of manga and short stories. The first game, Magia Record, actually inspired its own anime series that ran for three seasons, and the main Madoka Magica series is rumored to get a continuation this year with the Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgis no Kaiten movie.

Madoka Kaname is the series’ main protagonist, a sweet eighth-grader who attends Mitakihara middle school and is suddenly swept up into a world of magic after a fateful encounter with Kyubey, the otherworldly little critter that bestows powers upon her. She then finds herself navigating the ins and outs of being a magical girl in a not-so-magical world, and might look cute and fluffy on the outside but is willing to do whatever it takes to rid the world of witches.

That’s all we have on the Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra release date right now.
