Following their reveal in the recent Nintendo Direct, fans are already analysing the Mario Kart 8 Wave 3 DLC before they head to Switch this holiday

In the most recent September 2022 Nintendo Direct, we got buckets of announcements for upcoming big-hitters like Fire Emblem Engage and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. In classic Nintendo fashion, however, Mario still made an appearance, with new courses coming to the Switch in Wave 3 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC.

With the reveal of the Mario Kart 8 Wave 3 DLC, the inevitable also happened: fans started analysing them. The keen eyes of the Mario Kart 8 community don’t miss anything, whether it’s slight changes to classic courses or possible shortcuts to make the most of in their future races.

Just a cursory look at the Mario Kart subreddit reveals a bevy of different thoughts on the upcoming DLC. The main focus seems to be the return of halfpipes – this time with anti-gravity panels added at their peak. One user, SplatBoy07 (Splatoon fan by any chance?), cheered for them, even though they’re not exactly the same as the halfpipes of old.

Another keen-eyed user, Super_Craig02, spotted how some flowers have been removed from a specific corner. It’s a bit mind-blowing, really, that people are able to spot so much. The thread reveals changes to item boxes and even more. God bless the obsessive Nintendo fans out there.

That’s all the Mario Kart 8 Wave 3 DLC spotting so far, but there’s bound to be more out there. Get hunting! Or, check out The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s release date to get ready for the next best game of all time (probably).
