Visual novel and RPG giant Spike Chunsoft has revealed a brand new Master Detective Archives: Rain Code trailer in the lead-up to release. Along with showing a variety of the charismatic (and kooky) characters we’ll meet when we finally get to don that detective hat, the trailer also announces an exciting bonus digital novel.

Overseen by the game’s main scenario writer Kazutaka Kodaka, and written by Yoichiro Koizumi (who has previously written for the Danganronpa series), the Master Detective Archives: Raid Code novel series serves as a prequel to the main story of the game. It’s currently under development, so we don’t have many details just yet, but we’re super excited to dive into the history of the World Detective Organization.

You can grab a voucher code for the digital novel alongside the physical packages of both the Standard Edition and Mysteriful Limited Edition. Check out our Master Detective Archives: Rain Code pre-order guide to secure your copy ahead of time.

As mentioned above, the new Master Detective Archives: Rain Code trailer also gives us a peek at several characters and their voice actors, including the central Yuma Kokohead and his chaotic pal Shinigami, along with some intriguing figures like Zilch Alexander, Fubuki Clockford, and Zange Eraser. Check out the full trailer below.
