Meta World: My City, a new “metaverse board game” from Netmarble, launches on April 18 at 20:00 PT / 04:00 BST, but you can pre-download early so you’re ready to jump in. Pre-downloads are available from 16:00 PT / 00:00 BST.
Netmarble describes the new mobile game as a metaverse with “virtual real estate and building collection.” It’s the sequel to Let’s Get Rich, and features “board game mechanics and the opportunity to have virtual lands and buildings in the metaverse.” Locations are based on the real world, and the game is part of MBX, Marblex’s gaming blockchain ecosystem.
Now, we haven’t had hands-on with Meta World: My City, so maybe we should reserve judgement, but any blockchain gubbins rings loud alarm bells. And, in my personal experience, it’s impossible to find fun when estate agents are involved. Still, you can find out for yourself if you fancy.
