Nexon has released its earnings for the second quarter of 2022, revealing record-breaking revenue, with operating income up 47% year-on-year. The main drivers behind this are improved performance for MapleStory in Korea and Dungeon&Fighter in Korea and China, with Q2 revenue increasing by 43% in China.

Nexon mobile game revenue also improved thanks to Fifa Online 4 significantly exceeding Nexon’s outlook, with its revenues more than doubled and the record set last quarter. Things also improved in western regions, with North American and European revenues increasing by 30% year-over-year, driven by MapleStory and contributions from new games.

In Japan, revenue decreased by 1% in spite of contribution from Counterside. This was offset by revenue decreases from TRAHA and V4. As for the rest of the world, revenues increased by 77%. All this improvement has led to 27% to 37% year-over-year outlook for 2022 for the company (on an as-reported basis). Their expected net income is ¥21.6 to ¥26.4 billion.
