Rocket League Sideswipe boosts into season two

Rocket League Sideswipe season two has lift-off, but this isn’t the final frontier

Psyonix has announced the second season of Rocket League Sideswipe, bringing with it more rewards, more challenges, and a whole new ball game. With frantic gameplay, tight controls, and now a volleyball mode to rival the chaos of the original Rocket League’s hoops, there’s more firepower in the motor than ever before. Just don’t forget to wear your seatbelt.

Having first released in November 2021, Rocket League Sideswipe’s season 2 update is the first significant addition to the game as it looks to imitate the success of its ever-popular original title. It’s also the first time that players will receive rank rewards from the first season, so if you’re an avid player, make sure to log in and see what prizes you earned for all that swiping.

As well as all the new content, the second season of Sideswipe introduces casual playlists, a way for drivers to test their mettle before heading into the ranked mode. This means that going at g-force five is the only pressure you’ll feel when learning how to play the game with others, and we like that kind of accessibility.

What is the Rocket League Sideswipe Season 2 release date?

The new season of Rocket League Sideswipe goes live today, February 2, 2022. So, next time you log on, you should be ready to swipe and boost to your heart’s content in Psyonix’s 2D arena.

That does mean that, sadly, we’ll be saying goodbye to hoops for now as volleyball takes a turn in the spotlight. Fortunately, these additional game modes are on a rotating seasonal schedule, so we should get even more novelty rocket fun in the future.
