Pocket Tactics promotes the hard-working Ruby Spiers-Unwin to Deputy Editor

And it's thoroughly deserved!

Pocket Tactic's Deputy Editor, Ruby Spiers-Unwin

We have excellent news to share on Pocket Tactics this week: the incredibly hard-working Ruby Spiers-Unwin has been promoted to Deputy Editor, and it’s thoroughly deserved. Ruby joined the site in September 2020, as part of a Network N cohort experience that saw her gain experience across all of our editorial brands. She absolutely excelled on all of them, and we couldn’t wait to welcome her back.

She returned in December 2020, and the rest, as they say, is history. Ruby has been instrumental in helping grow the site from around two million page views in December, to the near 14 million we sit at now. It’s a testament to her hard work, sheer dedication, and pure liquid talent that we’ve had so much success with her onboard this year.

Of course, Ruby isn’t just a content machine, she’s also a human being. Her bubbly personality and dry wit has helped the team navigate the challenges we’ve faced over the past year, as the world wrestled with a global pandemic. She’s been a great mentor to our new starters, too, who have excelled under her watchful eye.

So it’s no surprise that she’s now our Deputy Editor, and I, for one, can’t wait to see what she brings to the role. I expect all of the hard work, dedication, and passion she’s brought so far to remain, but I’m looking forward to the fruits that her leadership and talent will bear now that she’s in a role that affords her the freedom to flex her creative muscles.

The whole Pocket Tactics crew is similarly pleased. Here’s some words from the team:

Kayleigh
I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Ruby, she’s been such a huge help since I joined PT and I look forward to learning more from her.

Tilly
Ruby is passionate and insightful, and really puts her all into everything she does. Our team wouldn’t be where it is today if it wasn’t for her hard work, and the emotional support her and her trio of ferrets provide.

Nathan
Her incredible work and insightful help won’t change at all, but she’ll be getting the recognition she thoroughly deserves.

So please join us, dear readers, in congratulating Ruby for this thoroughly-deserved promotion.
