Everyone’s favourite world-devouring gumball is returning to the world of battle royale puzzle games for the upcoming Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe Tetris 99 event. The 33rd Maximus Cup is spotlighting the recent remake of a Kirby classic with its new theme.
Between April 21 and April 24, you can compete to earn event points which you can use to permanently unlock the Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe theme. This includes a Kirby-themed board featuring the guy himself in the background, Tetriminos with stars on, and theme music from the game.
It seems Kirby can’t stay away from Tetris 99 as December’s 31st Maximus Cup was also Kirby-themed, in collaboration with Kirby’s Dream Buffet. It’s been a big year for the little guy as he celebrated his 30th anniversary, so it’s no surprise he’s appearing all over the place.
Nintendo uploaded a trailer showing off the collaboration theme in action and we can’t wait to try it out.
