The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores blazes on to iOS

The game revolves around building, exploration, and survival

Xigma Games has released its strategy-survival game, The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores. The gorgeous indie title is a sequel-of-sorts to The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands, which first released on Steam and iOS back in 2018, before eventually making its way to Android. The Bonfire 2 is out on iOS now, and Steam tomorrow, so it’s a fair prediction that it might also make the jump to Android later.

In The Bonfire 2, you build a city, managing resources and workers, but also sending expeditions out to discover other cities, and trade with them. But there is also a survival element, as night falls and monsters come to town – quite literally! You marshal your soldiers to defend your city, facing a variety of nightmarish creatures and bosses. But while the first Bonfire game is a side-scroller, Bonfire 2 has a more traditional isometric view.

If you imagine that Polytopia had a baby with Kingdom: Two Crowns, but was also messing around on the side with Don’t Starve, you get a pretty good idea of The Bonfire 2. The name of the game is strategy-survival – resource management, balancing expansion with defence, and all those lovely things.

If that explanation left you none the wiser – we don’t blame you – you can watch some gameplay for The Bonfire 2 below:

We’re very excited by the prospect of bosses attacking our town – especially that giant spider. The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores is available on the App Store, as is its predecessor, The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands.
