Bayonetta 3 has us all feline frisky, and not just because of the powerful dommy-mommy in tight leather clothing. A recent tweet from the genius account, @CanYouPetTheCat, has confirmed that yes, you can in fact pet that sweet pussycat in Bayonetta 3 – and even provided a video as proof.
Don’t worry, the Bayonetta 3 cat in question is not the giant, demonic, twisted version of Alice In Wonderland’s Cheshire Cat that accompanies Viola in battle. Rather, it’s a sweet, slinky little thing with silky black fur and large, golden eyes, which looks rather like my kitty Xiao.
The video shows Bayonetta providing her new feline friend with a couple of chin scratches, before it does a wicked sick somersault and disappears inside her amulet. That’s something my kitty Xiao can’t do… I don’t think. Funnily enough, a few months ago a Reddit user actually posted about wanting an option to pet cats in Bayonetta 3. It looks like our favourite witch heard their wishes and, in her benevolence, decided to answer them.
The Bayonetta 3 cat joins a whole arsenal of purring, pettable kitties across a variety of games, from the adventure-filled sandbox of Dragon Quest Builders 2, to the action-packed streets of Cyberpunk, and even the cosy life sim, Wylde Flowers. If you’re looking for more witchy wiles and feline friends, I definitely recommend the latter, and you can check out our Wylde Flowers review and Wylde Flowers interview to see if it’s your type of brew.
Luckily, you don’t have to wait long to pet the cat in Bayonetta 3 for yourself, as the Bayonetta 3 release date is drawing very near. If the cat isn’t enough to draw you in, check out our Bayonetta 3 preview to find out what else this kickass lady gets up to.
