How to get Digimon Survive’s Guilmon

There are plenty of monsters in the game, but everyone’s asking where to find Digimon Survive’s Guilmon, so we thought we’d answer that question for good

Digimon Survive's red and black Guilmon, the dinosaur type-mon, on a blurry Digimon Survive background

Digimon Survive marks the return of some of our favourite characters from the long-running series, including Guilmon, a fire-breathing monster with some similarities to fan favourite Agumon. However, Guilmon is not a companion Digimon to any of the game’s main characters, nor is it one of the many recruitable monsters from the battlefield. So how can you add it to your party?

That’s what we’re here to answer with our Digimon Survive Guilmon guide, detailing the only way you can get your hands on the red and black dinosaur with firey claws. It’s something you should seriously think about sorting out too, as Guilmon’s potent stats make it a particularly strong team member to have on hand during early strategy moments.

Now, here’s everything you need to know about getting Guilmon.

How do I get Guilmon in Digimon Survive?

Guilmon is a pre-order or month-one version bonus dependent on which way you purchased your copy of Digimon Survive. If you’re reading this in the first month of release – that is July 29, 2022, through until August 29 – and you’re playing a digital copy, you can pick up Guilmon following this method.

  • Complete the prologue and tutorial on Digimon equipment
  • Go to the menu
  • Select the ‘receive bonus’ option
  • Check your Digimon roster to find your level one Guilmon.

If you pre-ordered Digimon Survive from GameStop, you should have a receipt with the code you need to access Guilmon. Unfortunately, if you ordered a physical copy of Digimon Survive from another retailer, there’s a high possibility you won’t receive a Guilmon code, as retailers only offered that promotion with a digital copy.

With that, you’re up to date on getting a Digimon Survive’s Guilmon. For more monster-taming fun, check out our Coromon review.
