Harvestella machines are a handy asset for any aspiring farmer or adventurer, so let's take a look at how to unlock them, install them, and more

Harvestella machines - the player stood in front of a fermenation barrel, a smoker, and a cheese maker

There are multiple Harvestella machines that you can unlock and craft throughout the game, from feed makers that produce snacks for your livestock to fermentation barrels that turn your crops into healthy drinks. Getting a grip on your machines and processors is integral for the upkeep of your farm and your progress through the game, with some offering time-saving benefits, and others helping you produce consumables that play an important role in your dungeoning adventures.

So let’s take a look at all the different machines, how to unlock them, and what you can use them for. We also explain how to install Harvestella machines, in case you’re having trouble placing them. For more help in this area, be sure to check out our Harvestella crafting and Harvestella bomb recipe guides.

How do I install a Harvestella machine?

To install or place a Harvestella machine, you have to use it from your taskbar, the same way you use seeds. You can only place machines on your plot of farming land, which means sacrificing a crop square.

You can create and place as many machines as you like as long as you have enough space in your plot. However, be mindful that you still need to leave enough room to grow plenty of crops to use in the machines!

If you decide later that you want to get rid of or move a machine, you can use your hammer tool to break them. Then, you’re free to relocate or sell them.

How do I use Harvestella machines?

Once you’ve placed a Harvestella machine, you can use it by approaching and interacting with it. From there, you can select what ingredient you want to put in it.

All machines require a certain amount of time to process their ingredients. So far, we’ve found that most machines process their ingredients by the following in-game day.

Once the machine has finished doing its thing, a harvest marker appears above it (like those you see on mining and gathering points). Approach the machine and interact with it again to claim your newly processed item.

How do I unlock Harvestella machines?

So far, we’ve found that the only way to unlock and upgrade Harvestella machines is through the faerie orders book. The fire faerie installs the faerie orders book in your house at the beginning of chapter three. Each faerie you unlock adds a variety of tasks for you to complete, from harvesting a certain amount of a specific crop, to building machines and upgrading your farm. Once you’ve completed a task, go to your faerie orders book and click it.

You gain rewards after completing a certain number of tasks. These include blueprints for machines like the flour mill, fermentation barrel, smoker, and cheese maker, along with plenty of other upgrades and goodies. Check out our upcoming Harvestella Faerie Orders guide to find out more.
