There’s a storm coming to the next Hearthstone expansion, and wild winds are already blowing cold ahead of the arrival of the Lich King. That’s right, the legendary World of Warcraft big bad is coming to the card game companion, along with an army of death knights – the new 11th class – in a collection of over 200 fresh cards.
In one of the biggest Hearthstone expansions to date, there’s also a new mechanic in runes exclusive to the new death knight class, which opens up all manner of winning opportunities, from flooding the field with swarms of minions to controlling the board with health manipulation. Either way, it’s sure to make an impact on the current rankings for the best decks in the game.
There’s also a few quality-of-life improvements coming to the game as part of the expansion, including a dedicated events page so you never miss out on some seasonal freebies. Better still, until the expansion goes live, the Knights of the Frozen Throne cards return to standard so you can pick them up before meeting the Lich King.
When is the next Hearthstone expansion?
The Lich King Hearthstone expansion arrives on December 6, 2022. That’s just over a month to prepare for the long list of cards arriving in the game to shake up the meta.
