The star-surfer is back in action, with Kirby making the leap into a 3D platformer for the very first time. The new dimension isn’t the only addition on this adventure either, not only does our hero have to save the Waddle Dees from the hands of King Dedede, but he must also complete a whole bunch of missions to build up Waddle Dee Town, a quaint refuge for Kirby and his intergalactic pals.
In our guide to Kirby and the Forgotten Land missions, we’ll delve into each area’s special scenario requests and how you can smash them out of the park with the little pink protagonist. The missions element adds a nice bit of replayability to the linear levels in the forgotten land, giving each mouthful mode variation a little time to shine.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land missions
Thanks to the pre-release demo, we’ve seen a little of how the missions system works in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. However, completing requests in the demo unlocks items in the full game, and as we’re still not there yet, we don’t know exactly what you unlock by entering the codes, or how the mission system will work across the whole experience.
Of the three levels included in the demo, it’s the middle level, Downtown Grassland, where you find Kirby’s first set of missions. The introductory level, Point of Arrival, and the boss level, The Brawl at the Mall, don’t have any scenarios to fulfil. We’ll be back to give you the answers to all the missions once the release date comes, so make sure to bookmark this page for future updates.
Downtown Grassland missions
- Clear the stage
We’re not going to do you the disservice of explaining this one. Just get it done to have one-fifth of your missions completed.
- Save the hidden Waddle Dees
The first Waddle Dee is a freebie for beating the mini-boss Wild Edge around halfway through the level. You find the second and third in the same area, a little further down the line. To get Waddle Dee number two, find a yellow ladder surrounded by enemies, beat them all down and ascend to the rooftop. Here, Kirby can inexplicably use his mouthful mode powers to mount the dome on the roof, and wiggle it loose to free the Waddle Dee.
The final Waddle Dee isn’t far from the second, but instead of looking to the right of the area near the yellow ladder, you want to go as far left as you can. You also need a slashing copy ability, so bring along either sword Kirby or cutter Kirby. Next, climb another ladder, this one is on the left of the slab-shell snapping turtle, you’ll then find a traffic cone caught in a vine.
Cut the traffic cone free, take that bad boy over, and split the snapping turtle in two to get your final Waddle Dee, finishing the mission.
- Make five tulips bloom
Hidden behind enemies and breakable scenery, you find various wilted tulips throughout the Downtown Grasslands course. Simply locate and walk over all five of them, and Kirby’s pink green fingers will do the rest of the work to take another mission off your list.
- Break the building’s shutter
Around the mid-way point of the level, you find a vending machine fit for mouthful mode morphing. Take over that sucker and blast your way through the half-broken shutter nearby, before climbing up the ladder to find a hidden capsule and finish the mission.
- Ride the spewing water up to the balcony
Once you’ve made your way past the canons, not long after having broken the building’s shutter, take over a cone in mouthful mode. Use this cone to smash down hard on a leaky water pipe that you find tucked away in the corner of the area. From here, walk along the balcony and crash through the tower of metal blocks to complete the mission.
There you have it! With that you can easily complete all of the Kirby and the Forgot Land missions, ready to rejuvenate Waddle Dee Town. Just don’t forget to make a note of your codes for when the full game comes around.
