The LEGO Super Mario line is going to get a new set, The Mighty Bowser, on October 1 this year. Though a previous set contained a LEGO Bowser, it was comparatively unimpressive. Imagine Bowser’s NES sprite next to his Super Smash Bros. Ultimate model for an idea of how much better this one is.
If you want to get the LEGO Super Mario: Mighty Bowser set, you’ll be pleased to hear that it is already available for pre-order. It’s definitely one of the more expensive LEGO Mario sets ($269.99 in the US and £229.99 in the UK), but, also, it is pretty much the coolest one that they’ve done yet. We’re sure that more than a few fans will be happy to fork up the cost for this set.
Bowser has always been one of the coolest characters in the Mario series, and this amazing set is made up of almost 3,000 LEGO pieces. Because it’s so intricate, this Bowser comes off looking much smoother than a lot of other sets (which can have a fairly blocky appearance).
In addition to the large LEGO Bowser himself, you also get a large platform with two giant torches on either side of him. They look just like something out of the many iterations of Bowser’s Castle that we’ve seen over the years.
Though we are in the depths of summer right now, it’s worth keeping in mind that the holiday season won’t be far away by the time The Mighty Bowser comes out. He’d make a pretty awesome gift for anybody who’s a big fan of the Mario series.
