The trainers have spoken, Hoenn boasts Pokémon’s best starter designs

Apparently, Hoenn boasts boasts Pokémon’s best starter designs, and while we give our vote to Johto, we can’t deny that Torchic is a cutie

We’re just days away from the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, so now’s the perfect time for trainers around the world to come together to answer one crucial question, which region boasts Pokémon’s best starter designs? Yes, you can expect some discourse here, especially since several members of team PT do not agree with the current winner, but hey, we’re all adults here.

One look at a rather popular Reddit thread indicates that many trainers believe Hoenn has the best Pokémon starter designs, and while Torchic, Treecko, and Mudkip don’t offend us, we can’t say we agree with that decision. If you ask us, and a good portion of other trainers out there, it’s Johto that has the best starters in terms of design.

In the words of Redditor wtfliver, “gen two is god tier design.” Okay yes, Chicken Tikka is annoying, but Cyndaquil and Totodile are incredible starters, and we can admit that the grass-type does look good. Also, for nostalgia’s sake, we have to give a shout-out to generation one – Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, we still love you.

What region has Pokémon’s best starter designs?

Honestly, it’s entirely subjective, and really, nobody is wrong, except those of you that say Galar, you’re wrong.
