We’re getting a MariOLED Switch console

The rumored red Mario OLED Switch console is real and releases quite soon alongside the new game, Super Mario Bros Wonder, this fall.

The Mario OLED Switch against a red background

In a recent short and sweet Mario-flavored Direct, Nintendo gave us plenty of new details about the mustachioed plumber’s latest game and revealed a bright red Mario Switch console. This could, potentially, be the best Nintendo Switch console out there.

The Mario red OLED model – try saying that five times fast – is available from October 6, with pre-orders coming soon to retailers. The new game, Super Mario Bros Wonder, is not included, sadly.

This swish new Switch is bright red, with a matching dock. “How are they Mario-themed?” You cry – well, they have some golden coins sneakily hidden behind the removable panel on the dock and a silhouette of the man himself jumping for joy.

We’re not currently sure whether the red Joy-Cons will be available separately, as some red ones do already exist, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any news.

The game brings innovative new mechanics and enemies to beat up across plenty of bright worlds themed around different areas. Here’s the Super Mario Bros. Wonder release date for you, too.
