Ruined King: A League of Legends Story releases on Nintendo Switch

The Ruined King release date is here! Enjoy the turn-based RPG on Nintendo Switch

A champion looking out over the horizon

Rejoice League of Legends fans, as Ruined King: A League of Legends Story is finally here. LoL fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of this turn-based RPG for quite some time, and it undoubtedly came as a great surprise that Riot released the game yesterday alongside Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story.

Many thought the Ruined King: A League of Legends Story release date to still be some time away, yet it’s now available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC through the Epic Games Store, GOG.com, and Steam. Next-generation console players can also look forward to getting in on the action as the game is soon coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.

As for what you can expect from Ruined King, the story takes place in two different parts of Runeterra. The first is a port city known as Bilgewater. It’s home to an array of gangs, docks, and smugglers, while the second location, the Shadow Isles, is a land shrouded in black mist, cursing the area, and corrupting those who dare tread there.

Of course, there’s more to this game than just the story – what would a League of Legends game be without champions, after all. On what is sure to be a perilous journey, you must forge unlikely alliances with several popular LoL characters, including Pyke, Miss Fortune, Ahri, Yasuo, Brau, and Illaoi.

As for Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story, it’s a rhythm runner that sees you take control of Ziggs, aiding him in his mission to create the biggest bomb that Runeterra has ever seen. Naturally, there are enemies and obstacles for you to avoid, all to the tune of a snazzy soundtrack.

Oh, and if all that isn’t exciting enough, Riot Forge also confirmed that another LoL game is on the way, Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story. This heartwarming adventure game is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, and other consoles too. Phew, and we still aren’t done – bear with us, there’s just one more thing to cover, we promise.

Next year, Riot will release yet another LoL game. Convergence: A League of Legends Story is a 2D platformer that features time control – because what could go wrong with being given such a gift.
