The era of Guitar Hero may well and truly be in the past, but that doesn’t mean that music games are dead in the water. Not if Rytmos from Floppy Club has anything to do with it anyway, an upcoming music-based puzzler with tracks from genres as wide as jazz from the horn of Africa, all the way through to german house bangers that wouldn’t be out of place at the Berghain.

Better still, we already have a Rytmos release date, and while it’s a little more than the length of a 7” vinyl away, it’s in touching distance at least. Unlike other exciting indies we’ve seen, there’s no perpetual wait here between a Steam version and a Nintendo Switch version, with both available on the same day.

Not only is Rytmos a treat for the ears, but it’s pretty nice on the eyes too, with intergalactic-inspired design on the colourful levels you find yourself jamming through. There’s also the option to create some of your own tracks using the instruments you unlock along your musical adventure alongside Rytmos’ innovative composition format.

When is the Rytmos release date?

You can get boogying down to the sound of your own music on the Nintendo Switch Rytmos release date when it arrives on February 28, 2023. It’s worth pointing out that the title is expected to arrive on mobile at some point too, we just don’t have a date for that yet.
