Emotional indie game The Wreck is coming to Switch this spring

Prepare yourself for a tear-jerker as the emotional indie game The Wreck is coming to Switch, taking you on a moving visual novel journey of grief and survival

The Wreck release date - Junon looking through a fish tank

Following the success of its bafta-nominated Bury Me, My Love, studio The Pixel Hunt is bringing you yet another deeply emotive visual novel called The Wreck. Set to land on Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC in March, The Wreck portrays a mature and moving tale of sisterhood, motherhood, grief, and survival.

You take the role of Junon, a failed screenwriter attempting to battle through the most pivotal day of her life. With her mother in critical condition and her own mind on the brink of collapse, it’s up to you to help her navigate difficult conversations, explore the scattered memories of her past, and assemble a non-linear narrative that explores themes of trauma and recovery in painful yet cathartic detail.

With the trailer showcasing The Wreck’s striking, 3D art style, stunning soundtrack and voice acting, and extremely emotional narrative, it’s easy to see that The Pixel Hunt is still on top form, and we might just have another Bafta nominee on our hands with this one.

When is The Wreck release date?

The Wreck comes to Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC on March 14, 2023. You can wishlist the game on your platform of choice, and there’s even a demo on Steam for you to try out before the game’s full launch.
