Luckily for fans, Animal Crossing: New Horizons updates have come in thick and fast since its March 2020 release, ranging from fun seasonal events to necessary quality of life bug fixes. It can be hard to keep up to date with everything Nintendo adds to the game, so we’ve compiled all of the update news right here for you!

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you are tasked with maintaining a tropical island and developing a community of cute anthropomorphic villagers. The game takes place in real-time, and each player gets a vastly different experience to the next. New Horizons is the fifth instalment in the mainline series and has sold over 22 million copies since its release.

HERE IS THE LATEST ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS UPDATE:

UPDATE VER. 2.0

 The latest Animal Crossing: New Horizons is the major 2.0 update that brings a huge amount of new features, launching alongside the premium DLC Happy Home Paradise. Though the update has launched, official patch notes haven’t been released. So here is our summary of the latest features.   • Brewster and The Roost now available in the Museum
  • Kapp’n can now take you to different islands
  • Harv’s Island has a new area where regular vendors like Kicks, Leif, and Saharah, can set up a permanent shop.
  • Gyroids are back, with lots of new designs to choose from
  • Item Storage can be upgraded to 3200, 4000, and even 5000
  • Many new items to unlock with Nook Miles
  • Grow crops and vegetables to make new food recipes
  • The Pro Camera App has many new camera features
  • Celeste has new DIY recipes available
  • New customisation options, including new haircuts and reactions
  • Lots of new furniture items available from Nook’s Cranny

UPDATE VER. 1.11.1

The following issues occurring in Ver. 1.11.0 have been fixed.

  • Fixed an issue in the DIY Recipes app where sorting by order obtained would not display recipes in the correct order.
  • Fixed an issue where color variations of certain items would not appear in the Photopia item catalog.
  • Fixed an issue where the closing time music in Nook’s Cranny would not play as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where certain seasonal clouds would not appear as intended.

  • Additional limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping.

Fixed issues

  • Adjustments and corrections were made to improve the game play experience.

Alongside this information, the official Animal Crossing twitter account also addressed future updates, saying that more were in active development and to expect more information in the future.

Update Ver. 1.10.0

General updates

  • The May Day, International Museum Day, and “wedding season” seasonal events have been updated.
  • It’s now possible to wake up from a dream by using the – Button.
  • The following content has also been added:
    Additional limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping.

UPDATE VER. 1.9.0

General updates

  • The Bunny Day seasonal event has been updated.
  • Additional support for the Sanrio® Collaboration amiibo cards has been added.
  • New miles redemption options have been added to the Nook Stop.
    Custom Design Pro Editor+
  • Adds additional custom design slots and new pattern options.
    Custom Designs Portal*
  • Adds access to the Custom Designs Portal from the Custom Designs app.
    The following content has also been added:
  • Additional limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping.
    Nintendo Switch Online membership item*.
    *A Nintendo Switch Online membership (paid service) is required to use the Custom Designs Portal and obtain the Nintendo Switch Online membership item.

Fixed issues

  • Fixed an issue from Ver. 1.4.0 where if a player used a wand to transform, then swapped their wand for another item while their pockets are full, the player would no longer be able to remove the transformation outfit.
  • Fixed an issue from Ver. 1.7.0 involving kits where a player could dig where they normally shouldn’t be able to if they change their mind after using the “Let me imagine it…” option.

Other adjustments and corrections were made to improve the game play experience.

UPDATE VER. 1.8.0

General updates

  • Collaboration items have been added as part of the Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary. These items can be ordered from Nook Shopping starting March 1, 2021.
  • The following content has also been added:
  • Additional limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping.

Fixed issues

  • Fixed an issue from Ver. 1.7.0 where if a User selected their own User icon from the HOME Menu followed by “Search for Users You Played With” in the “Add Friend” Menu after an online or local wireless multiplayer session, the Nintendo Switch User Nickname of the other player would be displayed under “In-Game Name” when that player was selected from “Users You Have Played With”.
  • Other adjustments and corrections were made to improve the game play experience.

UPDATE Ver. 1.7.0

General updates

  • A seasonal event, Festivale, has been added.
  • The following content has also been added:
    • Additional limited-time seasonal items from Nook Shopping.

Fixed issues

  • Fixed an issue preventing players from receiving the mermaid fence recipe from Pascal.
  • Other adjustments and corrections were made to improve the game play experience.

 

UPDATE VER. 1.5.1

The latest update to the game fixes a number of issues introduced in Ver. 1.5.0.

  • Fixed an issue where some title keywords obtained via Nook Miles would not appear within the Passport.
  • Fixed an issue where certain messages would display in English for users playing in French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, or Russian.
  • Fixed an issue where animal residents would talk about pumpkins when given a bamboo shoot.
  • Fixed an issue where it was no longer possible to jump over a river based on the location of certain furniture.

Nooklink reactions

The official Animal Crossing: New Horizons Twitter has announced you can now use the NookLink app on your smartphone to perform reactions in-game! Some extra spooky reactions have been added just in time for Halloween.

Update Ver. 1.5.0

The latest Animal Crossings: New Horizons update brings a spooky Halloween event! Included in this update are new character customisation options, DIY recipes, and a couple of bug fixes too. Find the full patch notes below.

  • A Halloween event has been added.
    • Spooky character customisation options are available
    • Villagers outfits will change on Halloween night
    • Jack, the spine-chilling czar of Halloween, will make a guest appearance!
  • Pumpkins and DIY recipes using pumpkins have been added
  • You are now able to choose from a list of previously visited dream islands to travel to
  • You can favourite previously visited dream islands
  • The ability to hide items that are not for sale in Tom Nooks catalogue has been added

Bug fixes:

  • Various bug fixes have been implemented to improve play
