Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is getting a sequel, though it will be quite some time before any solid details are released. Developer ArtPlay and game director Shutaro Lida will devise a plot for the sequel, but it is not the team’s primary focus for the time being. No, that would be even more content for the original game.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night first appeared on Kickstarter, then after a successful campaign, it eventually found its way onto PC and consoles in June 2019. Its mobile port didn’t arrive until December 2020, when it landed on iOS and Android.

In our Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night review, we found it to be “a somewhat lacklustre port of a great Castlevania-like game.” Should you be a fan of gothic settings, RPGs, Metroidvanias, and hack-and-slash combat, you might find yourself drawn to this spiritual successor to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Earlier this year, ArtPlay released its first post-launch DLC expansion. The Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night update introduced three new game modes and pitted you against Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi, giving you the chance to grab some goodies in the process.
