If you’re after even more info on Supergiant’s titan-sized sequel, check out our full list of Hades 2 characters to say hi to faces old and new, plus we’ve got a guide on all of the Hades 2 weapons – one of which you’ll need some bronze for. There are a couple of things you need to do before you can go on a hunt for bronze, so let’s take a look at what you’ll need to do.
How do I unlock the Surface wards to get Hades 2 bronze?
You can only get Hades 2 bronze in the surface realm, so if you’re doing runs in the underworld and wondering why you can’t find any, now you know. Of course, to enter the surface realm, you need to unlock, but it’s easier than you might think – you just need to get past the warded gate that keeps you from breathing in that wonderful fresh air.
Once you have access to the Permeation of Witching-Wards incantation at the Crossroads cauldron, you’ll be able to waltz right through the previously blocked entrance to the surface. This should become available after Hermes first contacts you, and you’ll need a piece of cinder, which you get from defeating Hecate, a moly flower that you can find on your exploration of Erebus, and a shadow.
You’ll need to use alchemy to create a shadow using 30 psyche, 30 ash, and three fate fabrics. It takes a little while to brew, so go for a couple of runs and when you return, you’ll have a shadow waiting for you. Then, you can perform the Permeation of Witching-Wards incantation at the Cauldron, and you’ll be able to walk through the gate to the surface realm.
How do I remove the Surface curse to get Hades 2 bronze?
Unfortunately, since Melinoë is a Chthonic goddess and child of the Underworld, the Surface realm doesn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for her. In fact, she has an almost vampiric reaction to being out of her murky home, and the Surface curse inflicts her with a constant tick of damage over time.
So, you’ll need to work out how to remove the curse. If you’ve already come across Chaos, the primordial being that offers some, well, chaotic buffs on occasion, they will appear after your first trip topside and bestow you with some Origin Seeds. These handy little seeds can grow Hades 2 Thalamus, which is an ingredient needed to perform the Unraveling a Fateful Bond incantation which removes the Surface curse. You’ll need two thalamus, two nightshade, two lotus, and two moss to perform the incantation, and once you have, you’ll be free to roam.
How do I find Hades 2 bronze on the Surface?
Once you’ve rid yourself of the Surface, you’ll be free to visit the human world above at will. It’s here that you’ll find bronze a-plenty in the City of Ephyra. Bronze can spawn during any encounter on the Surface, so make sure you equip your Crescent Pick before you venture upward.
After you reach the city, get your pickaxe at the ready and look for bronze nodes so you can harvest the resource. Look for a bundle of haphazardly stacked bronze armor and hack away at it until you get some raw bronze for your trouble. Each armor pile gives you three bronze pieces in total, similar to the silver nodes found in Erebus. Now you have plenty of bronze to craft with.
