Despite Apple celebrating its new top-of-the-range smartphones with a grand launch less than a month ago, trouble may already be brewing for the technology giant. An alarming number of users are reporting iPhone 15 Pro overheating issues, with some saying that the phone is becoming too hot to hold in their hands. We can only assume this is not the sort of hot product Apple was aiming for.

Multiple social media users are complaining about the heat coming off the iPhone 15 Pro device, with some using choice language to vent frustrations over their dissatisfaction with the expensive product when charging or enjoying some of the best mobile games. Owners are apparently taking the issue directly to Apple in droves, too, with Bloomberg reporting just yesterday that the Silicon Valley mainstay company is currently fielding multiple complaints coming into their technical support brand.

At the time of writing, there’s still no comment from Apple on the overheating issue. However, notable tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has written a blog post suggesting that the overheating may be a result of “compromises made in the thermal system design to achieve a lighter weight, such as the reduced heat dissipation area and the use of a titanium frame.” If this is true it could spell bad news for Apple, as even the best software updates can’t change the materials already in the device.

While we haven’t been able to get our hands on an iPhone 15 Pro to judge the issue for ourselves yet, it’s evident from other reviews that there does seem to be a problem with the thermal dissipation in the iPhone 15 Pro. It’s possible that Apple could try and fix the issue by lowering the processing power of the device through a software update, though that in turn creates a new issue if the company fails to meet the performance levels promised on release earlier this month.
