Which iPhone 15 should I buy?

For most people, the base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are more than enough for everyday needs. The only difference is the price size of the devices – which also brings battery life gains for the bigger model. They have more than enough performance for most games, lovely cameras for social media, and are likely to let down the average user.

However, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max offer more, though you need to make sure you would actually use the benefits. The Action Button is nice, but not essential, too – it’s definitely not a reason to buy the phone.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max both have better camera systems than their cheaper siblings, with far more flexibility in the types of videos you can record, too. If you’re looking for the best photos possible, these are the ones to look at. The bigger model features a 5x optical zoom, too, so it’s technically the best of the bunch – though the difference still comes down to usage.

There’s also the new chip, the A17 Pro, which uses a 3nm process. This means that the pro iPhone 15 models can run console-quality games like Resident Evil Village and, sometime in the future, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Keep in mind, however, that Apple doesn’t have the best track record with cutting-edge games – it’s hard to say how much more support is on the way.

Lastly, all iPhone 15 models use USB-C, but only the pro models offer high-speed USB-C. This is super useful if you’re a creator working with lots of large files – you can get them off your device and onto a computer far more quickly. Again, this is a niche, and most people won’t make use of it.

In conclusion, you should probably buy the iPhone 15 base model if you need a new iPhone. Go for the Plus if you need more screen real estate – if you’re an avid Netflix watcher on the commute, this would help. Go for the smaller model if your hands aren’t used to big phablets.

If you’re a creator or avid gamer, the iPhone 15 Pro offers benefits you can’t get on the base model. The cameras are better, the performance leap is chunky, and the overall experience will be far more flexible for different needs. Again, however, you need to make sure you know what you need before diving in, though.
