The palamute is a brand new dog companion! You can take it into battle, use it as a stylish ride that doesn’t consume stamina, and pet and play with it if you need a moment to relax. In solo mode, you can have two palamutes, two palicos, or one of each following you.
What does the Monster Hunter Rise palamute amiibo do?
Outside of being the cutest amiibo available, you can scan the palamute once a day to provide you with a lottery ticket that you can exchange for a random item in-game. It also unlocks special layered armour for your palamute, though this can only be redeemed once.

You can customise your palamute in numerous ways. From the colour of its fur, to the shape of its ears, eyes, and tail, you can make your palamute look incredibly unique. Check out the video above for a demonstration.

You can hire a palamute by speaking to Iori who runs the Buddy Scout facility at the village’s Buddy Plaza. Each new palamute will have different Buddy Skills, so you may want to experiment and find out which one works best for you and your approach to monster slaying.
how do I unlock DLC outfits for my palamute?
Since its release, Monster Hunter Rise has received several special outfits collaborating with different games. You can find outfits from Monster Hunter Stories 2, Mega Man, Street Fighter, and now even Sonic The Hedgehog to unlock.
