Catch ‘em all with the Pokémon Go Tour: Johto event

The Pokémon Go Tour: Johto event is next month, and not only do you get to choose between Gold and Silver, but you can also select a generation two starter

There are many different regions in the Pokémon universe, but one holds a special place in the hearts of several team members at Pocket Tactics, and that’s why we can’t wait for the Pokémon Go Tour: Johto event. If you’re unfamiliar with the region, it’s where Gold and Silver take place, with the creatures in those games making up generation two.

As Niantic detailed in a blog post, there’s much to look forward to in the Pokémon Go Tour: Johto experience this year, as not only do you need to choose between the Gold and Silver versions of the game, you need to pick a generation two starter – Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Chicken tikka, no wait, Chikorita. We suggest having a little think on which one to choose, given they take part in your special research tasks. For us, it’s a no brainer. We love the cute little fire-starter, Cyndaquil.

The tasks in question include various challenges, such as catching Pokémon, evolving them, earning stardust, taking snapshots, and defeating Team Go Rocket grunts. Completing these objectives gives you the chance to grab evolution items, rocket radar pieces, an encounter with Celebi, and the opportunity to come face to face with shiny Gyarados.

Furthermore, the Pokémon Go Tour: Johto event not only involves Pokémon from that region, but from Kanto too. Such creatures include Onix, Chansey, Slowpoke, Gloom, Golbat, Poliwhirl, Seadra, Eevee, Porygon, and Scyther.
