Pokémon Legends: Arceus Ginkgo Guild

Meet the wandering merchants of Hisui, with the Pokémon Legends: Arceus Ginkgo Guild coming to a base camp near you

With Pokémon Legends: Arceus sending you back to the good old days of the Hisui region, a few familiar faces and institutions are missing from the latest game in the franchise. No longer will you be able to strut into a Pokémart and empty their stock of max repels, but don’t fret! This game has its own form of Poké-retail, with the Ginkgo Guild, Hisui’s travelling band of merchants.

The Pokémon Legends: Arceus Ginkgo Guild are separate from the Pearl and Diamond clans that look set to drive the game’s storyline, but that doesn’t mean they won’t have a role to play. These well-equipped salespeople show up from time to time in your playthrough to offer useful items, and while shopping, you might notice a couple of uncanny resemblances between them and some franchise icons.

For more on the next big title from GameFreak, we’ve got the lowdown on all the Pokémon Legends: Arceus new Pokémon, as well as hunting down a Pokémon Legends: Arceus shiny. Who are the Pokémon Legends: Arceus Ginkgo Guild?

As mentioned, all we know for sure about the Ginkgo Guild so far is that they’re a group of travelling merchants who help you out with items on your journey across Hisui. We’re still waiting to see the full Ginkgo Guild line-up, but the pre-release press has introduced the world to Ginter, head of the guild, and one of his many merchants, Volo.

The Ginkgo Guild stocks a variety of items, including balls, berries, and herbs. These consumables are more important than ever, with the game pushing players to craft their items, such as Pokéballs, and balms that calm Pokémon Legends: Arceus noble Pokémon.

However, there’s also a range of rather pricey items that you can grab from Ginkgo Guild merchant Ginter. For example, you can purchase:

  • Leaf stone
  • Shiny stone
  • Dusk stone
  • Electirizer
  • Razor fang
  • Razor claw
  • Reaper cloth
  • Protector
  • Oval stone
  • Metal coat
  • Moon stone
  • Ice stone
  • Sun stone
  • Water stone
  • Thunder stone
  • Dawn stone
  • Upgrade

All of the above items will set you back 5,000 currency.

Does Pokémon Legends: Arceus Ginkgo Guild impact the story?

The short answer is yes, though it’s not down to the entire Ginkgo Guild, it’s more to do with one individual merchant. However, due to the game being so new, and as to avoid spoilers, we won’t specify which one (yet). The other merchants in this group don’t have so much of an impact on the fate of Hisui.
