Fans have been speculating about what was next for the newest Pokémon main series game for months, but now we have official confirmation that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC is coming this year. The Pokémon Company announced the two-part DLC in 2023’s Pokémon Presents livestream alongside various other updates and events for the franchise.
The Scarlet and Violet DLC has the title The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, with part one set in the land of Kitakami and part two taking you on a foreign exchange trip to Blueberry Academy. Nintendo has used this two-part DLC model before with Pokémon Sword and Shield. Based on that DLC and what we know so far, it doesn’t look like owning Scarlet or Violet affects your experience of the DLC.
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is set to introduce you to two new legendary Pokémon, one for each part of the DLC, and give you the opportunity to catch more Pokémon from outside of Paldea’s Pokédex. These legendaries aren’t the creatures that many theorists and data miners were expecting, but the paradox Pokémon versions of Suicune and Virizion are still coming to the game, so check out our Pokémon Scarlet and Violet tera raid battles guide to find out more.
When is the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC release date?
Part one, called The Teal Mask, is set to release in fall 2023. Part two, which is known as The Indigo Disk, will follow in winter 2023.
