Digimon fans are getting hyped as photos and footage of Digimon: Source Code at ChinaJoy 2023 have emerged. The catalog of Digimon games out there needs another mobile title, and Digimon: Source Code looks like a promising addition.

Bandai Namco originally announced Digimon: Source Code back in December 2021, but many fans assumed that the developer canceled the project as the game’s website unexpectedly shut down in April 2022. That was until the company’s booth at ChinaJoy 2023 featured a new playable demo of the mobile game to try.

According to ZeninTCG on Twitter, Digimon: Source Code is a turn-based RPG where you control your Digimon’s actions in combat. The gameplay focuses on speed and you can utilize a combination of basic attacks, special attacks, and evasions to come out on top against your opponent. They also highlight that team building matters as synergistic combinations of Digimon lead to powerful team attacks that call back to the iconic anime series.

Sadly, the game is only available to download in China at the moment, but we’re extremely excited to learn more about when Bandai Namco plan to release it worldwide. QooApp’s hands-on feature suggests that there will be over 300 Digimon available at launch, including powerful final forms like Omnimon.
