Kirby has a tough challenge ahead of him in his first 3D adventure, with a whole host of new big bads (and some familiar faces) to take down and save the day. Fortunately, scattered throughout Kirby and the Forgotten Land are rare stones, a crucial item needed to upgrade Kirby’s kick-butt copy abilities, giving the pink puffball a little extra firepower.
With our guide to Kirby and the Forgotten Land rare stones, you can hunt down all the extra items you need to get a complete collection of upgraded Kirby and the Forgotten Land copy abilities. With a gauntlet of tough bosses in the latter stage of the game, you should upgrade as many of Kirby’s hoovered up powers as possible to give you the best chance of seeing off the beast pack, and bringing the Waddle Dees home.

What are Kirby and the Forgotten Land rare stones used for?
You can use rare stones to upgrade and improve Kirby’s copy abilities. You do this by swinging by the Waddle Dee Weapons Shop with a fresh Kirby and the Forgotten Land blueprint, and handing over the required amount of rare stones, usually two to three, for a souped-up superpower. After coughing up some extra coins for the service, the Waddle Dee weapons expert presents you with a new variation on one of the many copy abilities.
How to get Kirby and the Forgotten Land rare stones
You can get rare stones from Kirby and the Forgotten Land treasure road missions, a special collection of extra stages designed to test Kirby’s skill with specific copy abilities. You get a rare stone for each stage you clear, even if it’s not within the target time, and more pop up the further you get through your adventure in the Forgotten Land. So keep an eye out for any rift portals that emerge on your journey, and be sure to always scout around for any search spots that may hide one.
