It’s no secret that Samsung makes some of the best foldable phones, the most current being the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Flip5. As one of the world’s biggest phone manufacturers, Samsung has pushed foldable tech into the mainstream and led a charge that now has Google, Oppo, and Tecno joining in. With the fifth iteration of Samsung’s tablet-style foldable and the fourth iteration of its flip-style foldable, the latest Samsung phones must’ve perfected things, right? Could they be the best Samsung phones to date?
Well, maybe. As reviewers have spent time with the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, their thoughts aren’t negative, but they’re all saying the same thing – while good, these phones are an incredibly minor upgrade. Or, at least, that’s what most people think. So, we’re going to cover all the scores out there, plus some bonus roundups of the Galaxy Tab S9 and Watch 6 to round out the Samsung ecosystem.
Anyway, on with the latest Samsung phones:
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 reviews
As with the Flip, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 reviews are a little thin on the ground at the moment, especially if you’re looking for a numerical score. Overall, everyone seems happy with the new handset, but folks are still hammering home the incremental nature of the update.
- PhoneArena – 8.5/10
- XDA Developers – 7/10
- Pocket Lint – 4.5/5
- Tech Advisor – 4/5
- Tom’s Guide – 4/5
Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 reviews
Even slighter are the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 reviews. Here, folks are a little bit more excited about the return of the classic rotating bezel from the 4th generation, though battery life concerns are also highlighted. As always, there are a bunch of other unscored reviews, either written or on YouTube.
- PC Mag – 4/5
- Trusted Reviews – 4/5
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 reviews
We haven’t found any scored reviews of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 at the moment, though first impressions seem positive. The new tablet comes in three configurations, the 11-inch Tab S9, 12.4-inch Tab S9+, and the ridiculously big 14.6-inch Tab S9 Ultra. The latter is mightily impressive – just an über-thin slab of metal the size of a laptop screen. You can check out an unboxing above to see for yourself.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 reviews
As with the Fold, there are only a handful of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 reviews that include a score at the time of writing. The unscored reviews are favorable, in general, though most do mention how incremental a change this is for the Z Flip series, in spite of the larger cover display.
- PhoneArena – 8.2/10
- PC Mag – 4/5
- 9to5Google – 4/5
- Tom’s Guide – 3.5/5
That’s all the latest Samsung phone details we’ve got for today, but keep in mind the rumors of the S23 FE – that could turn up very soon, with Samsung’s own Exynos chip to replace the Snapdragon made for Galaxy.
