What is Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket?

The February 2024 Pokémon Presents announced we’re getting a new mobile app purely for collecting Pokémon TCG cards. Opening new packs of cards is what it’s all about. You can swipe across the top of a pack to open it, tap each card to comb through the pack, and flick a card across the screen to trade it with other players.

We do have Pokémon TCG Live already – the less said about that the better – but Pocket appears to focus more on collecting cards than playing games. Pocket has a quick battle system, with fewer rules than the main TCG, so you can still try your cards against other players if you want.

Every day, you can open two packs of cards for free, and we’re sure you can purchase plenty more if you like. These packs feature cards from series across the years including the now very relevant X and Y, and Sun and Moon sets, along with exclusive cards for the app that you won’t find anywhere else. The best thing, perhaps, is that some cards allow you to zoom in and view immersive artwork, as shown in the trailer with a group of Ponyta in a woodland.

If this makes you wish for more free Pokémon games, then grab these Pokémon Go codes and Pokémon Unite codes to get a head start in the mobile titles.
