Samsung One UI update brings fresh foldable features to older devices

Samsung’s latest One UI update brings its Android skin’s new features to more devices beyond its latest foldables, tablets, and watches.

The new features from the latest Samsung phones are on the way to other devices, following the newest Samsung One UI update. One UI is Samsung’s version of Android, and it recently received some unique features with the release of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Fold 5, Tab S9 series, and Watch6 series.

Of course, anyone who uses one of the best foldable phones from Samsung will see the biggest benefit – same for the best flip phone users. There’s an adjustment to flex mode, making it easier to show or hide the panel, new multi-window features that also comes to tablets, and taskbar additions.

Galaxy Watch users get the new sleep insights, as revealed at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023, alongside fresh Watch faces. Of course, anyone who doesn’t use one of these unique devices won’t receive any new features, though that doesn’t really matter – these updates are only useful on foldables. Still, as we noted in our Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra review, some more multitasking features would be nice there, too.

While it’s coming to lots of devices, it’s not coming to them all. Here’s what Samsung says:

“The One UI update is supported on the following generation devices as follows: Galaxy Z Fold: Z Fold4, Z Fold3 and Z Fold2 models. Galaxy Z Flip: Z Flip4, Z Flip3 and Z Flip. Galaxy Tab: Tab S8, Tab S8+, Tab S8 Ultra, Tab S7, Tab S7+, Tab S7 FE, Tab S6 Lite, Tab A8, Tab A7 Lite, Tab Active3 and Tab Active4 Pro. Galaxy Watch: Watch5, Watch5 Pro, Watch4 and Watch4 Classic. The software update will come first to Galaxy Z Fold4, Z Flip4, Tab S8 series and Watch5 series first and then will become available sequentially to previous generations.”
